Oh let's not crucify the kid like they did Quinn. I'm still in shock at how quickly Quinn was run out of town!
No fans here wanted Quinn when they took him, he did nothing in college and will do nothing in the NFL.
McCoy did pretty good against the number 1 Defense in the NFL and I agree with TrojanDave. Keep him in there the rest of the year, and get him soom help.
^^ yep Quinn = not an NFL caliber starting QB. Verdict is still out on Colt but he looked okay. Each team will show him a different blitz package so he will have to conquer hurdles that maybe Delhomme wouldn't have had to overcome.
Quinn wasn't very good in college and showed little improvement while in the NFL so far.
Wow...never thought the Browns would actually win. As the game progressed, it seemed New Orleans never could seem to get over the hump. The Browns will be a dangerous team to play now as they have nothing to lose and can play four-down, trick play football without drawbacks.
Colt was not asked to win the game just manage it. Brees really helped out the Browns. The Browns have some talent to play with other teams and now have some confidence for upcoming games.
Some excitement going into the bye week. Then, they have to face New England and the Jets but both games are at home. I see at least a split there, then we can get some things going. Not .500 but we'll make some noise and look at next few seasons.
I hope the Browns' braintrust will leave McCoy in for the rest of the year........so far, I am very impressed with Colt's play with so little experience.......he has faced a thousand blitzes already and has fared well........he has shown the ability to move in the pocket, been very accurate on his throws, and doesn't look nervous at all.
Eric Mangini is kind of caught in a sticky situation for him........if he plays McCoy, he risks leaving a rookie in to get enough wins to save his job........on the other hand, if he leaves him in he should get a very good barometer on Colt's ability to lead this team.
I think Tom Heckert and Mike Holmgren should get together with Mangini and assure him that McCoy is the best way to go with this team, and that a lot of wins can't be expected as Colt learns the position........THE BROWNS HAVE GOT TO DEVELOP A QB!!........ENOUGH OF HAVING 100 QB'S FOR CLEVELAND!!
It was Holmgren who drafted McCoy........now give him a FAIR chance to prove himself!!
that is right td...holmgren drafted mccoy! mangini wanted a defensive player. Agree that they need to stick with mccoy for rest of season - regardless of wins/losses.
