^^^^^ I dont think he has been there that long (93). I'm guessing a couple years later around 95 or 96, but i get your point.

I didn't know calling your team "the worst fundamental team in Ohio" was considered cheering for the kids. If that's the case then I'm cheering the hell out of the Browns right now. I'm sure some of the players read that and saw it as a put down, because that's what it is right? You ever stop and think about that?

I went by the field last night on the way home and there was a game going on. I assume that means that they will be able to play the game at RV. If not, I would appreciate it if someone in the know would post differently.

Having been the veteran of many seasons at RV as a parent, booster, fan and helper, I think that the worst problem is numbers. Most of these boys get very little, if any, time at the JV level and rarely is there enough participation to field a freshman team. By necessity, they are thrown into the mix at the varsity games without much experience in the heavy hitting and tactics they are about to experience.

There may be other problems but recruiting and encouragement from within the school system would go a long way towards at least building an integrated feed line to the varsity program. Those boys take a physical beating every time they hit the field. Several upperclassmen leave the program in frustration in their junior and senior years, further compounding the problem.

Good luck to the Raiders tonight. It will be tough but it can be done.

You see you have the same train of thought as our coaching staff, Coaches in High School actually do teach fundamentals in winning programs.

blu n gray has done nothing but bitch, moan and complain since he/she has been on this site, but talks like they support the kids. Don't expect anything to change now.

Probably was a supporter of Deel his first two years when RV had a winning record and then his/her true colors showed.

Blue nd Gray..... are you from RV? Or GA like you try and let on?

I am surprised that nobody has accused me if being blue-gray yet.

LOL

Any word on the game? I have the Valentine boys in class, and while I don't think they are superstars, they sure would like a win.

KarlAgathon-if you want me to I will but I think I would not be telling the truth.

Tubby-Coach came to River Valley in 94-he started as the freshmen coach, great work ethic. To be honest I have been surprised that he has stayed at RV all these years because I thought he would move on to bigger and better things.

Sandman made some very good points!

Hey expert!
River Valley had a winning record?
Could you please expand on your comment about when that was?
I support the kids not grown ups who are coaches or, I never followed them much back then?

River Valley finished 6-4 in 2003 under Coach Deel.

I was at the game last night.....we left a little early, but I believe the final was 55-34 Rock Hill. Little frustrated last night with Rock Hill....their fans arguing and complaining about the refs up by 22....then proceeded to do an onside kick, to go up by 30. RV didnt let it effect them, and still came out fighting!!

Good luck Raiders against SP next week!!

Thanks RaiderFan.

I'm not an expert. Never claimed to be.
River Valley went 11-9 over the two seasons of 2002-2003.

For someone who is a "Blue Devil Backer" you seem to spend most of your time and most of your posting on RV threads.

I have seen a couple of your posts on GA basketball though. They didn't seem to be supportive of coaches or kids???

RVFan, I really like the people of RV so I'll keep this short. The refs were HORRIBLE and fans are going to complain about that no matter what the score was. 2 TDs of over 60 yards were wiped away by bogus calls no where near the play, an "quick" whistle taking away 2 points and then the refs nearly let a do-over play...LOL, and finally the roughing the passer before the half on the RH INT was terrible because you could clearly see the RH kid was pushed in the back into the QB. That's just a few.

As far as the on-side kick, RH nearly lost last week when they were up 21 with 6 minutes to go...I see no problem with putting the game away late in the 3rd quarter. And good luck vs SP, I really think RV can win this one. I was impressed with the QB, I think he threw nearly 40 passes this game and the receiver made a great catch right before half for a TD.

you must be one of those fine assistants, on the football team??
seems you take it a little personal? did you play on those teams?
or 16-14 from 2002 to 2004?

I have relatives at both schools and went to GA.
Played under coach Trent?
Remember him?
I also played under Ozzie and i do not approve of the way he was treated.
I do support the kids,i think there are too many coaches coaching today who could care less about the kids and are not qualified to be coaching kids,at least at River Valley they got a good Basketball coach finally!! It may take him a few years to get them where they need to be at least he puts effort into it unlike the last few they had.
I think they will surprise some people this year and i will be rooting for them for the first time when they play my alma matter.
Don't tell me who i support i stated that " i root for the kids,"the team at River Valley is horrible when it comes to tackling ,angles, blocking, running they play too high (looks like they never hit the sled) They are playing a scheme on defense designed for teams with superior speed. You can't tell me that blaming the kids for being unathletic, not having heart,i have heard River Valley coaches say it all! The sad thing is if they would just go back to basic blocking and tackling ,teach that and watch the kids get better, pay attention to detail they could compete with Div 6 teams?? THAT IS ON THE COACHES!
Get real!
