UFC 122: Marquardt vs Okami

Post by The_Legend_of_Northwest »

UFC 122 will take place November 13 in Oberhausen, Germany. This will be shown on tape delay for free on Spike TV

Main Card:
Nate Marquardt (30-9-2) vs Yushin Okami (25-5). Originally Vitor Belfort was to face Okami but was pulled to take Chael Sonnen's title shot.
Jorge Rivera (18-7) vs Alessio Sakara (15-7 [1])
Denis Siver (16-7) vs Andre Winner (11-4-1)
Amir Sadollah (3-2) vs Peter Sobotta (8-3)
Krzysztof Soszynski (21-10-1) vs Goran Relic (8-2)

Prelims:
Kyle Noke (17-4-1) vs Rob Kimmons (23-5)
Vladimir Matyushenko (24-5) vs Alexandre Ferreira (18-6)
Pascal Krauss (9-0) vs Mark Scanlon (7-0)
Duane Ludwig (19-11) vs Nick Osipczak (5-2)
Seth Petruzelli (12-5) vs Karlos Vemola (7-1)
Kris McCray (5-1) vs Carlos Rocha (8-0)

Even though its free I'm not sure I can get excited about this one.

Predictions:

Prelims:
McCray Decision
Petruzelli 1st Rnd TKO. Seth looked good in the 1st round in his last fight
Ludwig decision. Ludwig has too much too offer Oscipczak right now
Krauss decision
Matyushenko decision. Ferreria has great sub game but Vlad is too gritty and tested to get caught in it
Kimmons decision. Noke has shown some bleh takedown defense and Kimmons will bore you to sleep in this one

Main:
Soszynski 2nd rnd sub. Relic just hasnt been the same since all his back injuries
Sadollah 1st rnd sub. Seems like an easy matchup for Amir
Siver decision. Should be a really good fight back and forth
Rivera 1st early 2nd TKO. Should be a stand and bang fight
Marquardt decision.

Fight of the Night: Siver/Winner
KO of the Night: Rivera
Sub of the Night: Sadollah

This looks to be a pretty boring card. I'm looking forward to UFC 123 with Rampage and Machida going at it.

Predictions:

Okami by split decision
Rivera (Don't know much about this one)
Siver by unanimous decision
Sadollah by sub.
Soszynski majority decision

Sakara fell ill during the prelims and pulled out of his fight. Oscipczak/Ludwig was promoted to the televised card

Sadollah and Rocha looked good. main event was a bore fest IMO. Vemola is a beast . I think I could have new fav' I like the calm cool technical approach of Amir Sadollah .
