Harrison is not going anywhere! He's just just crying around hoping people will feel sorry for him,,even though he's made alot of money he would have to give about 7 mill of his signing bonus if he quit so thats not going to happen,,he must have suffered a concussion himself to even think about giving up a high paying job like that......

While reading sports on line, one player said. If you helment to helment a player. The player has to sit out as long as the player that got hit is out hurt. Interesting .

Steve Young said it best when he said "the offensive player with the ball lowers his shoulder pad level like hes taught, and what comes with the shoulders, the head!" So offensive players are taught to run low, so a defensive player comes in with his shoulders, in that split second either can move their head causing contact between helmets! This will be the worst enforcement than even pass interference.

I also liked where Young said another reason for the big hits is that teams are passing more than ever. Avg. to bad QB's are throwing ducks and hanging receivers out. Where do most of these hits occur, over the middle on passes, long runs on the sidlines or blindide hits on returns. These people knew the risks when the signed the contract.

Try proving intent! They will just fine everyone!

I actually think the hit on Massaqoui wasn;t that bad, but the one on Cribbs got me,,if you look at the replay he just come missiling in head first trying to inflict as much damage as he could not even trying to wrap his arms around him, whatever happened to hit and wrap up? I like a good clean hard hit but not one that that might put a person in the nursing home the rest of their life,if I had a choice i;d rather have lower leg damage than to the head.I realize the hit on Cribbs was legal and thats why the way they interpet it are dumb,,,,if the defender comes in head first and doesn't even try to wrap up he should be penalized in my book for his well being and the other players. At least on Massaquoi hit as bad as it looked,,on the replay it looked like he gets his arms up trying to prevent the head on collison, and also if the players today would use proper technique they would put their head on the side of the ballcarrier when hitting using more of his shoulder to deliver the blow then alot of this might not happen......

If players would actuallu try to tackle instead of going for the big hit all the time this stuff wouldn't happen nearly as much. Defense sucks in the NFL... Linebackers think they have to knock guys out to tackle them, D linemen think there only job is to get to the QB, and db's are a bunch of pre madonnas. I think it has been said by a few talking heads on tv but I'll say it here. They need to loosen up the pass interference rules a little. I think they should make the contact box 7 yards instead of five, and quit throwing flags every time a db sneezes.

Helmet to Helmet hits are going to happen, The nature of the game says it will happen weather a player is trying to or not, but the NFL is doing the right thing by levaling suspensions for this.

Changing some of what a defensive player can do on pass routes would help. Along with calling the illegal picks. They need to better enforce the rules they already have. If they can give the penalty to Dallas because a lineman fell down they can better enforce the other rules. The rules changes have made it easier for the offenses in the past few years. Bad coaching is also going on also. Like the Bears who can not block. How many young high draft choice QB's have been hurt because a team can not coach up the linemen they have and refuse to acquire enough better players. As well as some of the newer players just do not put in the time to study game films. Players and coaches on both sides of the ball need to take action to clean up the game.

The problem is that at the earliest of ages, the players are not being taught to use their shoulders, wrap their arms and drive tackle the runner. Instead, highlight reels are full of decleating hits that are fundamental wrong while using their heads as a weapon and coaches are teaching the players to go for the KO instead of a sure tackle.. In most serious injury cases, it is the player receiving the hit that suffers the worst injury.

I agree with Mike Dikta and Joe Paterno, technology has lead to a lack of a fear and thus the head is being used and targeted. Take off the full face cage type of face mask and replace it with a single bar for all players. This will add some fear back into the game as some of the protection for the face/head will be gone and this should help promote good tackling fundamentals.

I like that idea! Take those facemasks off and after a few broken noses and missing teeth the helmet to helmet will be a thing of the past.. I also agree that today you got too many of these prima-madonnas wanting that big showboat hit so they can see themselves on sportscenter

A whole Sunday of great games and not one helmet-to-helmet hit. Coincidence? Can we have great play without the debilitating plays? Yes!

A whole Sunday of whiffed tackles and avoidable big offensive plays.... Boring. If I wanted to see more offense, I'd watch arena league... Yawn...

Well, get used to it because the NFL has to be proactive on this or major legal hits are coming.

NFL had better worry more, right now, about the way the NY Giants are taking out quarterbacks
