Gymrat
You asked me about Gilbert and his writting the 14 pages. Well LeBron has not come out and said this was wrong and that was wrong. Maybe because what Gilbert wrote was also the truth. Then you get where LeBron gets upset at some of the Tweets he was receiving from some people. Then reposting them then adding why those posters were wrong.
You defend LeBron for doing something legal but Gilbert did something legal also. The difference between the two is one told lies and the other didn't. Also when Gilbert talks he doesn't take about himself in the third person like LeBron did during his 1 hour look at me show. He even has done that since.
Some people will never be a LeBron fan for his actions. It doesn't matter where he plays. So enjoy him all you want many of us will not because of the way he handled himself. He even came out not long ago saying he grew up hating Cleveland while growing up and his feelings never changed. With him saying that then it makes sense he never planned on resigning with Cleveland. Which goes against what he said on his hour show about just making up his mind that day. When someone flat out lies it is hard to believe anything they say. But then you want to pull the moral todem pole on GAHS. Well apply it also to LeBron.

Leaving race out of it...
The Cavs ownership acted wrong in response to James leaving. He had every right to leave. How he did it was wrong and the reasons why he did it were wrong. By leaving the Cavs for Miami, James basically said that he cannot win a title his way which was him calling the shots as to who coached the team, what players were signed, how the team was transported to away games and who was and wasn't allowed on team charter flights.
James left for a team that gave him some control of what he wants, mainly the say in who is treated well by the team and he is consulted on what players sign with the team but that is left up to Riley for the final say. If the Heat is slow getting out of the gate this year or doesn't win the title this year, Riley will be coaching the team. Van Gundy's job is not secure.
You would have never seen Magic leave the Lakers to join Bird on the Celtics or vice versa. Jordan never left the Bulls to win a ring and there was NOTHING on the Bulls when Jordan got there. The organiztion built a team around him.
The truely great ones want to be the Man on their team. I think James didn't want to be the man; as in the one the team is built around. He just wants to be treated like the Man.
How he handled the entire situation was his down fall and no amount of Nike commericials will undo the damage to his image, we are all witness to that.

Re: For all of you LeBron haters............
Here is my take, as a once Lebron Supporter. I became a Cavs fan when he got drafted there and am still a Cavs fan now that he is gone.
As much as it sucked that he left for South Beach, more of the problem for me was the way he did it. He did it in the most egotistical way possible. He did not even tell Cleveland prior. They found out by watching ESPN like the rest of us. Seriously? That is classless! Then he comes out a month or so ago and says everything was racial? Seriously? He needs to grow up.
Also "3 on 3" YOu said Lebron was the greatest scorer ever? Seriously? What have you been smoking. MJ was the greatest scorer in league history bar none with Kobe coming in second.
So to me, it is the way he went about it that angers me so much. Cleveland tried to give him everything he wanted. They went out and got the players he wanted them to get. He was the one who wanted Shaq.

Re: For all of you LeBron haters............
This thread is crazy Lebron did what he had the right to do, anyone in the NBA would have took that offer. Then Jordan said that he would have never teamed up with Magic or Bird, yes he would have, he didnt because he never got that chance. As for the big portrait of Lebron in Cleveland it should still be there for the man that made that city what it is today. Chris Bosh turned his back on his team did anyone say anything about thats, no because Toronto was adult about it and let it go unlike Cleveland. Also CHARGE you said if I think Lebron is a top 3 player of all time I most be young, well heres your answer. Yes I am young but I have been watching the NBA since the early Jordan era and if you dont think Lebron is a top 3 palyer of all time then you just dont watch enough NBA basketball. When a player has a avg. of 25 points, 8 assist and 7 rebounds they are a great basketball player. So to get to my point GROW UP LEBRON HATERS, just let it go the man made up his mind he's not in Cleveland anymore.

BaskaetballFan1,
Yes I think Lebron is the best scorer ever. If you think back before last season, Magic , Barkley, and Kenny Smith all agreed that MJ was the best to ever play the game but Lebron was the best scorer to ever play the game.

My bad. I forgot that Van Gundy had already been forced out of Miami by Riley and he went to Orlando.The_Legend_of_Northwest wrote:Van Gundy isnt the coach of the Heat :122248Mister B wrote:Leaving race out of it...

Re: For all of you LeBron haters............
For those who like to compare heres some stats that prove Lebron is a very good scorer.
It took Lebron six years to score 15,000 points
It also took Jordan six years to score 15,0000 points
It took Kareem seven years to score 15,000 point
It tokk Kobe ten years to score 15,000 points
So that being said I guess that makes Lebron one heck of a scorer.

Re: For all of you LeBron haters............
Great points bucksfan!!! Winning creates amnesia........ kobe raped a girl, quit on his team (for a several game stretch), and tried to walk away but nobody offered a good deal due to his attitude and selfish ways as well as his locker room stigma. Then he threatens the Lakers into getting a good team, they sign some really good players but it still didn't complete the job so they sign Pau and a couple others and create a really deep and talented team unit led by a great player and now nobody remembers the horror stories that were KB and his life after Shaqtus.
Don't mistake me for being one that says Lebron is one of the goats yet but at his age he is doing things that others his age couldn't and has physical ability like no other in any sport ever. To be the greatest scorer, and I know you know this rebels on 3, he needs to be able to do it from everywhere and with his size and strength he should really be able to dominate in the post and create mismatches but teams have figured him out and 3/4 him to his strong side and make him turn back to the left which he is very uncomfortable doing still so he throws up some wild shots. When he finds his balance after pivoting to his weakside he can use his lefthand but most times he can't get his normal lift to get the shot he should get with his tools. Also, MJ and now KB had/have that midrange post up game but again Lebron isn't consistant with it. At his age though he is on track to figure it out and those guys didn't get it until their legs failed slightly and they lost a step so he definitely has time to get there. To me right now he doesn't appear to be in basketball shape yet and looks like a guy coming off of a football season when he jumps, he just barely is the most explosive guy playing now which will change when he gets his legs back. With all that said, KB is no Mike and 5 more rings won't get him to that level. Anyone that can't see that doesn't watch anything other than Espn. I will give you that if KB had his athleticism that he lost several years ago combined with his jumper now and his new found attitude to rebound and play d that he aquired from playing for Coach K 2 years ago, he may have been "like Mike" if he had played at that level consistantly for about 10 years. KB is the best scorer in the game and has figured out what it takes to win in a team sport. BUT Lebron has a LOT of time to figure it out still and still has his legs and youth to go along with his frame and strength.

Re: For all of you LeBron haters............
So he can score points. He does not have a go to shot at the end of games to win games that others can not stop. He has size and strength to go with his skill and agility. But he just has wanted it to be a game where he can play around. He will never be considered one of the greats until he can play with heart and desire all the time with a team concept.

The Heat put it to the Magic last night by like 25. Another note off topic Rondo had 24 assist for the Celtics.

Re: For all of you LeBron haters............
Lebron gave Cleveland 7 years to get some decent talent around him, but they failed to do so. How long was he supposed to wait? There is no doubt that he has a big ego, but that does not take away from the fact that he is the best all-around player in the game today. It is quite amusing to read all the "quitter" comments. If he were a quitter, he would have given up long before last year's playoffs. Too many of you are judging him on emotion and not on knowledge of the game of basketball.
