Battle of Ohio blacked out in Cincinnati
Battle of Ohio gets blacked out in Cincy
Posted by Mike Florio on December 17, 2010, 10:00 AM EST
That seven-year streak of sellouts in Cincinnati quickly has become a three-game streak of blackouts.
And counting.
Sunday’s Browns-Bengals game, a Battle of Ohio that in a round-robin tournament a certain college team headquartered in Columbus possibly would win, won’t be televised in and around Paul Brown Stadium due to lack of ticket sales.
According to Sean McClelland of the Dayton Daily News, it’s the first non-sellout of a Browns-Bengals game in a non-strike year since 1979.
We’re not sure what relevance the non-strike designation has, other than to permit the streak to extend back farther than 1987 and/or 1982.
WOW!

Bengal fans will not go to games when things are bad, trying to force managemt to field a better product. Quite a few have turned in there season tickets and fans are asking people with box seats to turn them down for next year. We will not fill a stadium with the product on the field. Fans have to react or see much of the same.

Who wants to watch 2 BAD teams play! Both franchises have been ruined year after year with bad coaching and bad management decisions.

Ahhhh, finally, the NFL shows the people of SW Ohio mercy and blackout what is sure to be a pathetic display of "professional" football. Folks in the Cincinnati MSA get a break for once, and may actually get to see a good game on local TV Sunday!

The blackout is a 70 mile radius, it keeps people who stayed at home instead of going to the game from watching it on tv.
I applaud my fellow Bengal fans for not giving mike brown any more money.
