Re: South Gallia 2011
I think the vikings will be just fine. That line coach was really working those kids at the 7 on 7. Justy will get them going.
Re: South Gallia 2011
7-on-7s or what I like to call them, Passing Scrimmages, are not indicative of what would happen if the two teams played. The quarterbacks are not rushed and can basically sit in the pocket all day. Line play, both offensive and defensive, is totally eliminated from the equation. I did not attend this scrimmage so I do not know how it went.
However, I did witness a passing scrimmage where Hannan scored on Wahama - like that would happen in a real game.
They are good for getting the kids working together and for throwing, catching, and running routes. And they allow a team to showcase its passing ability with perfect line play by the o-line. However, the element of surprise is also completely eliminated. The defense knows the offense is throwing the ball and can sit back in a zone and just wait for the pass.
I am sure that both teams found positives and negatives from this scrimmage.
Good Luck to both teams. If both continue to work hard in the weight room and with speed training, etc, both will get better.
