Are you one of those "bleacher refs"? Hell, you NEVER miss a call do ya?bballin wrote:It was just one of those nights for the Burg. They couldnt buy a bucket. No excuses here, they just got beat.. Like I said earlier the differnce would be guard play and they all struggled shooting last night.. Burg seems to always struggle at Oak Hill..I usually dont say much about refs but WOW that was horrible on both ends.. The one call for a 3 pointer when the kid was a good 2 feet inside the arc was unreal..I look for a differnt out come when Oaks come back to the Burg..

Burg flat out got handled last night. They couldn't buy a shot from outside, but Oak Hill shut them down. It didn't help Stegman picked up his 4th foul with 7 min left in the game. He finally came in with about 4 min to go and he picked up his 5th on a dumb reach-in foul..hopefully he will learn for next time.
The refs I thought did a pretty good job..there were a few over-the-back calls that could have been called on both ends, but the 3 pointer called was actually a 2 pointer because it was shot from 2 feet within the arc. It was a bad call, even the oak hill faithfull were giggling on the other side. But, that happens..fact is Burg got stood up on Oak's home court, and I think the outcome will be different on Burg's court.
One thing I would like to mention, is Oak Hill's band is freaking entertaining! Could have done without the game and watched them all night! Not sure who the "dancing" duo are, but the one guy playing the french horn or whatever was good! Haven't seen a good high school band so pumped in a looooong time!

Hoopsref : Sorry to upset ya, but just calling a spade a spade my friend .. :122245 Im not saying the refs cost Burg the game, thats not it all.. Burg got it handed to them..
therepublican: I agree Burg got handled , no excuse about it.. I look for and hope for a differnt outcome when the Oaks travel to Burg.. And the Oaks band was very entertaining.. The shots just were not falling last night and i saw some kids pass up some open looks when they had them..

I agree with the comments on the band. I would pay the price of admission just to watch them and the choir did a great job on the national anthem also.

Burg seniors have been backed into a corner before. They started 0 and 2 in football and had to win out to make the playoffs and take the SOC 2 title. They will bounce back BUT they can't do it from the bench. Stegman has to stay out of foul trouble and coach can't send in boys to do a man's job. The SOC is wide open right now let's see who wants it.
