Today made it even worse...We get shut down by someone who used to pitch for us...I think the batting coach needs to walk the plank myself! It's getting brutal!

Bucs 3 Cubs 1

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Bucs stratch out 3 runs on 8 hits. Rookies Pressley gets 3 hits and Harrison gets 2 hits. Just enough offense to win.

Burris gets the callup from Indy and goes 5 1/3 1R on 5H to get the win. 4 pitchers from the pen go 3 2/3 0R on 0H to preserve it and Hanrahan gets his 33 save in 36 chances.

McCutchen gets hit on the left hand and leaves the game. No word on any injury. Hopefully, nothing series.

Ohlendorf takes the hill for the Bucs. Need another win in the worst way.

LETS GO BUCS!!!

If we had some offense, we would be above 500. Not in the playoff picture but battling the Cards for 2nd place in the NL Central.

Something does need to change for next season.

Bucs 7 Cubs 5

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Derrick Lee returns from the 3 week DL and goes 3-5 with a HUGE knock, a grand slam in the top of the 9th with 2 outs to propel the Buccos to a win. He gets the slam vs the same pitcher who broke his wrist 3 weeks ago. We really needed this one.

Who knows how our season could have ended, 500 maybe, if Lee had stayed healthy.

Bucs go for the sweep on Sunday and a chance to take the season series 9-7.

Cubs 6 Bucs 3

Not going to win any games when you commit 2 errors and issue 9 walks like Bucco pitching did today.

At least we took 2 out of 3 but time is winding down. Need to get on a nice win streak. Hopefully it starts today as Houston comes into the Burgh for a 3 game set and we owe them a 3 game sweep.

McDonald takes the hill for the Bucs vs the Astros Sosa.

Bucs 3 Astros 1 game 1
Astros 4 Bucs 1 game 2
Bucs 5 Astros 4 game 3

Bucs start a weekend series vs the Marlins on Friday as they send Russ Ohlendorf to take the hill.

19 games left in the season and Pittsburgh can only afford 3 more losses if they hope to have a winning season. It isn't going to happen. However, having a winning record in September is a must to help erase the memory of a terrible August.

Fish 13 Bucs 4

Ohlendorf was awful. No fastball and no movement on his pitches as he throws batting practice to the Marlin's hitters. He gives up 6 R on 10 H and only records 6 outs.

Bucs to pound out 13 hits but only push 4 R across the plate.

Need a win today. Bucs send out rookie LHP Jeff Locke for his MLB debut. Hope it is a good one.

LETS GO BUCS!!!

Saturday night's game trumped Friday night's game as the worst of the year...Marlins 3 Bucs 0. 1 stinking hit for the Buccos.

Fish sweep the series by taking game 3 4-1.

Bucs rollout the Lincoln for Monday's home matchup vs the Cards. I smell another sweep and it won't be us doing the sweeping.

I have lashed myself to the main mast and am going down with the ship. I probably should have slashed my wrists first.

Series vs Cards...

Bucs 6 Cards 5 game 1 (Bucs 36th come from behind win for the season)
Cards 6 Bucs 4 game 2
Cards 3 Bucs 2 game 3 (Bucs 81st loss of the season)

Cards take season series 9-7.

With today's loss, Bucs are now assured of their 19th straight losing season. Bucs went 57-105 last year. This year is an improvement in the right direction even though it is ending on a sour note.

4 game series @ LA starts on thursday night.

LETS GO BUCS!!!

Bucs 6 Dodgers 2

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Ohlendorf finally pitches a decent game to get the win 7 innings, 2 R on 4 H and even gets his first MLB homer, a 3 run shot in the 2nd.

Meek gets an appearence out of the bullpen but is very shaky. Hanrahan gets his 38th save.

Bucs send out Locke to face Kuroda in game 2.

Dodgers 7 Bucs 2

No much positive in this game for the Bucs. Poor pitching and poor hitting.

Bucs send out MacDonald to face his old team who will counter with Lilly.

D-backs 1 Bucs 0

Pirates waste some good pitching by not having any offense. We had 2 stinking hits and 1 of them was by our starting pitcher.

Bucs send out Morton to face Hudson.

Bucs 5 D-backs 3

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Bucs again get good pitching to go with some timely hitting to get the win.

D-backs 8 Bucs 5

Horrible pitching by Ohlendorf as he last 2 innings and gives up 7 runs. Good offense against a playoff team but not enough.

Bucs split the season series with the D-backs 3-3.

Bucs head home to start the final 3 game homestand vs the Reds on friday.

Locke takes the mound to face Volquez. Don't expect much as I am sure the Reds will hammer Locke.

LETS GO BUCS!!!
