1 Chillicothe - Hinton has laid a soild base.
2 Gaillipolis - Good coach, should compete with Chilli for the championship
3 Jackson - Strong program and a soild coach should compete
4 Logan - Kelly must junk the spread, need to return to old time football
5 Warren - Could battle Logan for 4th place
6 Portsmouth - If they could play defense they could finish above Logan

Will revist my predictions mid August
Wow thanks but i see
1.Jackson
2.Chilli
3.Warren
4.Logan
5.GA
6.Ports
Blue lost too much speed along with experience 2 yr starter at qb, fb, wb and a lot of size.especially on defense. We will be competitive in some games i see the.500 mark for this team.

From all I have perused above. The SEOAL could be a BLACK & BLUE league this fall. Anyone on any given evening could spoil someones fruit basket. The sad thing about something like this is whoever comes out on top or has a playoff shot could be so beat up in league play that any post season play might be a real nightmare. Anyone else see this season sizing up as a exciting evening of football every gameday, everywhere your heart is in the league. I think each team has solid returners and a strong base coming up, to the point of welllllll, pick your poison, don't look past anybody or it could be a long painful evening for the faithful. Good luck to all, just not very much luck to you on Warren night. Hey ya gotta be loyal to you school, right?

Very well said, 4-ever.
I have always been proud of the Blue Devils, whether 2-8, or 8-2.
If you can't come out and support the high school atheletes in your area, fine, just stay home and keep that trap shut!

Some people think if the league doesn't have a team that wins by 40 every game the league is week--when really it just more balanced.

gahs4ever wrote:Contrary to the Fool's opinion, the SEOAL is NOT weak. Anyone who would say such a thing has no appreciation of the rich football traditions at places like Logan, GAHS, Jackson, and Portsmouth. And I believe Chillicothe is definitely on the rebound under a time tested proven coach in Coach Hinton.

Some years are better than others and some years you may have a stronger group at the top, but parity does not automatically mean weakness.

Name any year you want in SEOAL history and tell me what team has made an extensive playoff run (Portsmouth excluded because they have only been in the league about 6 years and their success of the early 2000's came before they were in the league).

When you label an entire league before the first game has been played, in essence you are telling every athlete and coach that no matter what they accomplish this fall wont mean a thing because it came against no competition, which is not on not true, but IMO unfair to those kids and coaches.

You put them in a lose-lose situation where if they lose you can say, "I told you so," but if they win, who have they beaten? Unfair!
The seoal is not a weak league! I would call it from top to bottom an average league for schools its size! The only measuring stick we have is playoff success and appearances, which have been frequent. While playoff success has been limited, these teams are respected football schools. Tradition is well...... Makes a nice program gives Jottings something to do, but honestly has nothing to do with how strong your league is?
Only as good as your last game.
Most of these schools have great fans and followings. Good Luck to all of them.

The league is just too spread out with this economy.
There needs to be some adjustments made in all athletic programs, before you start seeing the fate of other locations. For instance, Our locals in Pa have seen a lot of the Junior High programs discontinued, and the farthest road trip we face is under 40 miles
Its getting scary to say the least
