Washington County Basketball
Re: Washington County Basketball
Amanda Brown - Marietta. Tough little 4 year point guard for Marietta High School. Always plays big in important games - getting points, rebounds, steals and assists. Shes going to be hard to replace next year!

Re: Washington County Basketball
I heard the Browns were moving NC?Any truth that Hannah Brown will transfer?
Re: Washington County Basketball
There's a possibility that the Brown family could be moving, but we'll have to see how that plays out.
Washington County has had a ton of players play with the Ohio Express, not saying we're the reason for the success, but hopefully we've helped out in some small way.
Dani Drayer and Regan Porter will be two freshmen to keep an eye on next year for Waterford.

Gotta admit....Washinton County girls play some darn good basketball.
Re: Washington County Basketball
Great year for our Washington County girls. I believe that the younger Rauch girl from Warren also plays Ohio Express with Drayer and Porter. 7th grade? AAU has really helped build these teams. Ohio Express players over the years are Drayer, E. Brown, H. Brown, A. Brown, Weppler, Martin, Brooks, Rauch, Lynch, Buzzard, Buchanan, Combs, Borich, Parsons, Flowers. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF OUR TEAMS.

Looking forward to attending all three of these games today. As always, key players getting in foul trouble could play an important part. Of the three, I'd say Warren would seem to have the toughest opportunity, but it all comes down to the playing of the games.
Last week Proctor and Ryan missed out on a lot of playing time due to fouls. Ryan on had two fouls in the game, but the 2nd one, still in the 1st qtr and a questionable call at that, took her out for the rest of the half. She made big shots at crunch time when it was very close in the 4th qtr.
Amanda Brown is a very key player for Marietta and she played a wonderful game last week with only one foul in the first half and one in the 2nd. In Marietta's loss where they got dominated the most that I saw, at Dover, when she picked up her 2nd foul in the 1st qtr, which was assigned to the wrong person by the officials, the game was pretty much a lost cause from there. Last week Hill and Dawson had 6 and 7 points in the first quarter to get out to a good start with a 9-2 lead, but it was Brown who scored 9 quick points at the start of the 2nd qtr, and had 11 in the qtr, which got the lead up to 28-14, and put them pretty much in cruise mode from there, which they did losing each of the 2nd half qtrs by one point each. Dawson picked up her 2nd foul in the 2nd qtr, about the time it was 28-14, and Marietta got out-scored 6-2 for the rest of the qtr, so it is critical for her also to not lose time due to fouls. Her 13/16 on FT in the 4th allowed the differential to stay comfortable. I couldn't figure out why they were fouling her when the rest of the team was shooting less than 30% on FT. If they were going to foul, why Dawson - there were a lot of opportunites to put others at the line. To make it much further, the rest of the team is going to need to shoot FT better and hit open shots, like Hill did last week.
