Waterford didn't quite have enough time to get the win. Talk about stepping it up at crunch time.
Waterford will reload and be back stronger next year.

Our players got a lot of statewide recognition this week.

Marietta's Erica Dawson was a first teamer and Player of the Year in Division II. Fort Frye's Taylor Buchannan and Waterford's Brooke Drayer were first teamers in Division III and IV. Incredibly, all of these young ladies are juniors. Also, Dan Liedtke was recognized as a Coach of th Year in Division III.

Imagine if Washington County would consolidate and these three would be on a team together. Could be fun to see how far they could go.

Of course, then we'd be Division I and still have a tough time of it. Better to have all the best players transfer to Waterford and run roughshod over Division IV. ;)

Not really sarcastic, but not very serious. Honestly, that would be the best chance any of our county schools would have at a state title. They should just hang a banner in each player's home school.
