Re: TVC Players
How many leagues have three divisions within their league and what is the advantage of this. All the talk about numbers of people in the stands and gate money seems to be a moot point since most of the tvc schools played Athens before they joined. Those gates have been the same for years.

Actually Athens is bringing a lot larger fan base on the road, and more fans are traveling to the plains to watch there team play Athens because the games are competitive again.

Re: TVC Players
You obviously weren't at the Nelsonville-York/Athens ... or even the Athens/Alex games ... the past two years ... The crowd was TRIPLE compared to past years when Athens was in the SEOAL ... I've been going to Athens games for 20 years and the crowds are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy BIGGER now (on the road and at home).highandtight wrote:How many leagues have three divisions within their league and what is the advantage of this. The NY-Athens game this year was Crazy, I counted people from 11 area schools being there not including the 2 that were playing

Re: TVC Players
I have never went and sat in the rain/cold at 4:30 for a game before ... That's exactly what a handful of us did in week 10 ... As did a bunch of NY fans across the way in the other bleachers. The Enforcer wrote:The NY-Athens game this year was Crazy, I counted people from 11 area schools being there not including the 2 that were playing
By the time the game started we were jammed in the stands like sardines sitting shoulder-to-shoulder - absolutly not an empty seat in the house ... Standing room only (and some places 5 and 6 people deep) all the way around the field ... Radio stations doing pre-game and post game shows atop the press box ... I mean, no other game EVER between Athens/NY had that type of atmosphere/hype/number of fans in attendence ... All because they were playing week 10 for an outright league championship.

Re: TVC Players
Good non-league schedule ... A couple of tough opponents in Coal Grove and Warren ... A couple of winnable games with River Valley & Fairland ... The Trimble/Meigs game could be very interesting.
