The Cleveland Browns are for sale
The Cleveland Browns are for sale
There saying that Lerner is going to sale his shares and let someone new take over. I hope so
Re: The Cleveland Browns are for sale
Cleveland.com is reporting that Jim Haslam III will buying the team from Lerner.
SI.com is reporting that Haslam III is buying a share of the team.
Haslam III owns the Pilot and Flying J truck stops throughout Northern and Eastern Ohio. He has also been a minority investor with the Pittsburgh Steelers in recent years.
We shall see.

Re: The Cleveland Browns are for sale
Lets all put our money together and buy up the shares! lol........
Re: The Cleveland Browns are for sale
He will own 70 percent and have to sell his steeler shares,Lerner will keep the remaining 30 percent for now, this means Holmgren's days are numbered and he will be riding his Harley back to the west coast soon with pockets full of cash.

Re: The Cleveland Browns are for sale
I think it's a good thing to change ownership........I feel Randy Lerner had more interest in his soccer team than he did the Browns.......the Haslem family is reputed to be a football first family.........Joe Banner of the Philadelphia Eagles is rumored to be the incoming president of the Browns.......if indeed that is the case, very likely that Mike Holgren is gone after this season, but not necessarily the coaching staff, with the ties that HC Pat Shurmur and OC Brad Childress have with the Eagles, both having formerly coached there.

Re: The Cleveland Browns are for sale
Thank you Al and Randy for giving us our Browns back in Cleveland. Not a huge fan of some the decisions, but you will always be the reason that Browns fans are fired up for NFL Sunday.
That's a real nice side note, Lerner family. Better than previous people in your shoes.
Is Haslam more Dan Snyder (Wash) or Victor Kraft (NE)? That's the big asterisk now?
This can be a real plus, especially with JH3 being around the Rooneys for 4 years. Also, being around passionate fans that love their team and their city will be a big plus - even if it was the squeelers.
Leave Heckert alone. We wish you the absolute best.

Kind of reminds me of a Jerry Jones or Mark Cuban type, looks like he is going to involved with the team a lot maybe even on the sidelines,he give one heck of an introductory speech the other day, mentioned how next week he will be in the stands with the fans for the Orange and Brown scrimmage,he is the complete opposite of the last owner!
Re: The Cleveland Browns are for sale
I wonder if Tony Grossi gets to come back to the Plain-Dealer now that Lerner no longer owns the Browns?
How I only hope and wish.
