Re: Fort Frye Cadets
Maybe a wake up call for the Cadets.....lot of time wasted last night just passing the ball back and forth...this has got to change?
Re: Fort Frye Cadets
Cadets over Trail 56-15 this evening.
Scoring for the Cadets went...12, 11, 10, 8, 7, 4, and 3.
Next up, Huntington St. Jo. the #1 ranked small school in Wv. They beat Parkersburg Catholic 73-48 last night, and Catholic was the #5 ranked school.
Looks like the Lady Cadets will have their hands full. Tipoff for Junior Varsity is 6:00pm Saturday with Varsity to follow about 7:30.

FF led by eight at the half, and by six after three.
St. Jo. outscored FF 29-12 in the 4th.
Fort Frye JV's won 55-22

Huntington St. Joseph 15 2 17 29 - 63
Fort Frye............... 12 13 15 12 - 52
ST. JOSEPH (10-1)
Griffin Dempsey 7-17 2-2 20, Mychal Johnson 6-17 6-9 22, Mychelle Johnson 2-4 2-4 6, Rachel Lee 1-3 0-0 3, Asia Petite 5-12 0-0 12. TOTALS: 21-53 10-15 63.
FORT FRYE (12-2)
Michelle Adkins 0-0 0-0 0, Shawntell Parsons 2-4 2-3 7, Brooke Borich 2-5 0-0 6, Micayla Hupp 1-4 0-1 2, Morgan Liedtke 4-7 0-0 10, Taylor Buchanan 10-15 1-2 21, Deidra Combs 2-7 0-0 4, Megan Liedtke 1-1 0-0 2. TOTALS: 22-43 3-6 52.
Team stats:
Shooting: HSJ: 21-53 (39.6 %), FF: 22-43 (51.6%). 3-Point Shooting: HSJ: 11-35 (31.4%), Dempsey 4, Mychal Johnson 4, Petite 2, Lee 1); FF: 5-12 (41.7) (Borich 2, Morgan Liedtke 2, Parsons 1). Rebounding: HSJ: 19 (Petite 5), FF: 29 (Morgan Liedtke 8), Assists: HSJ: 12 (Mychal Johnson 5), FF: 12 (Morgan Liedtke 4). Turnovers: HSJ: 6, FF: 16. Team Fouls: HSJ: 13, FF: 12.
These stats from the Parkersburg paper make me think that the HSJ starters played most of the minutes and they were biding their time, conserving their energy, and blitzing in the 4th if needed, which it looks like they needed to, and did it well.

Thanks oshay, it was good to finally get to catch a game.
HSJ only has 6 varsity players. They did seem to hit another gear after one of their players caught an elbow.

Re: Fort Frye Cadets
Fort Frye schedule is really tough this year Sunday they play D2 River View (10-2). They won state title a few yrs back.
Re: Fort Frye Cadets
Girls have three away games this week, Wed. at Caldwell, then tough back to back trips (sat. and Sun.) To the Greenhouse to play Waterford.
Then to West Muskingum to take on Riverview. This weekend schedule is brutal.

Yes, that was when the oldest Daughtery (sp?) girl was a senior, and her Mother was Head coach of the team. I think she went on to play college ball at Dayton.EasternDspy wrote:Fort Frye schedule is really tough this year Sunday they play D2 River View (10-2). They won state title a few yrs back.
Re: Fort Frye Cadets
All ten girls played, and the non starters each probably got to play 10-12 minutes.
Good balanced scoring again....12, 11, 10,9, 8, 8, 8, 3, 2.
Forgot to add, Cadets won.
JV,s also won.

Re: Fort Frye Cadets
Amazing game, and Waterford without a player in double figures.
Wonder how long it's been since Waterford scored less than 26? My guess... at least 20 years.
