I believe the final was 76-40 in favor of the Ironladies. 19-0 now, which I believe sets the school record for regular season wins.

Ironladies got production from just about everyone tonight. So many weapons...so difficult to account for all of them.

School is cancelled tomorrow at JHS, but hopefully the game with Circleville will be played. How has Circleville been doing? Weren't they the only other team to beat Athens, or am I thinking of someone else?

Jackson 76
South Webster 40

Final

Jackson moves to 19-0

All 5 Ironladies scored in the first 2:20 of the game and raced out to a 15-0 lead. SW got into the scoring column when junior Lydia Poe stood in perfect position with arms straight up and the SW girl ran into her forcing a shot....unfortunately for Jackson that crap has been a foul all year once they take a commanding lead. Jackson subbed out and were outscored by SW 13-10 the rest of the quarter.

Jackson went flying off again in the second quarter burying shot after shot and amassed 50 points with 1:20 left in the half. The 3rd quarter was slower and Jackson subbed out their 3 top players with just over 6:00 remaining. Our bottom 5 were in by the 3:40 mark and they held off the SW starters pretty well.

Jackson had Poe, Ridout and Hoover all around 15 points with Lexi Humphreys and Whitney Wills chipping in a very efficient 8 or 9 points as well.

Great game from the get go by Jackson!

One issue from the low worth peanut gallery....closing out each quarter. Maybe I'm way off or horribly bad luck for them then but it seems like every quarter we have the ball in the last minute and we seldom score and the other team routinely gets the ball back and scores. Win that last minute in 3/4 of the quarters....it'll matter in the huge games and we seem deficient in that area....maybe I'm wrong and if so I apologize.

The JV lost but one of SW's varsity starters and top scorers played JV for some reason so it's hard to gauge....but our JV is improving and those girls will fill in some varsity minutes next year. It's fun to watch them improve.

Wow oh wow!!!!!! I have now watched Jackson 6 times this year and they were lights out tonight against a quick and fit South Webster team. They won by 36 but it didn't seem that close. I was up at Paint Valley to start the season and was very impressed with the shooting of 10 and 15 for Webster. They hit 3 after 3 in destroying a good Peebles team. 15 was playing on jay vee when I got there? I thought maybe she was bein punished but then she started on the varsity. I don't think I've even seen that before. Those Webster girls played hard and look like good kids. I would've been wanting in if I was them. I think the starters played almost the whole last quarter to the horn. Good thing no one got an ankle rolled. They should do good in division 4.

My schedule on the road will keep me from seeing Jackson until the tourney. Hope they can go undefeated.

Hats off to Jackson, you guys deserve your ranking. Your girls started out about as hot as you can, lol..I believe they only missed one three in that first qtr. As far as Poe she is a stud, and being D4, South Wbster doesn't see that type of post. Rideout has just continue to improve her play. But as far as the foul on her, she stepped over to stop the shooter, made contact without feet being set, and probably one f the few times Webster went at her, lol. She doesn't foul much..just a overall sold team that moves the ball well.

As far as Webster goes, with Hall out, 10 has to pick up scoring slack and has done so. 15 is a sophomore I believe and has played both all year long, nothing wrong with that, helps with team chemistry for next year is all I can see. I believe SW has a very talented Freshmen group anyway.

Enjoy your run Ironwomen, and good luck in the tourny.

Tough shooting night for the Ironladies against Circleville, but they beat the Lady Tigers 47-31 behind an outstanding defensive effort. Might have been some tired legs after playing South Webster last night, but the Ironladies just couldn't get much to drop on the offensive end. Poe led Jackson with 15, I think. Not sure anyone else was in double digits, but as always, everyone contributed.

Jackson is now 20-0, which I think sets a school record for wins in a season, tournament play included. Congrats to this group of Ironladies for that amazing accomplishment. They can now clinch at least a share of the SEOAL title on Thursday when they host Logan on what will be senior night for Kari Jenkins and Jackie Cyrus.

I02 ... I don't want to jinx anyone here ... this is COMPLETELY hypothetical ... but if Athens and Jackson were to survive and reach the district finals ... dinner at BW3's is back on the table, pal! ..... lol
