Jackson at Eastern Dec 17 Radio Coverage
Re: Jackson at Eastern Dec 17 Radio Coverage
The last two games Jackson has been lights out. Completely dominated a 6-1 Minford team and had a 42 point lead at Chillicothe. They are playing 9 in the rotation....everyone has fresh legs and their decisions are better and their shots and torching the bottom of the net. They've already had 7 different girls in double figures this year.renob wrote:Sounds like Jackson wants it more.
Senior Kari Jenkins leads Jackson with 11 at the half.
The Vinton County game is a long lost win. This Ironlady team is playing as well now as the Beth Howe teams.....they would matchup very well.
Gotta play well another half.

I thought that as good as we have been we could win by around 15.Eagle82 wrote:Jackson 49

Big time road win for the Ironladies against a very good team. Good effort from Eastern to mount a comeback after trailing by almost 20 in the 3rdQ.
How many did Kari Jenkins end up with? Last I heard, she was at 24. Great performance by a senior leader in an important game.

Thanks. I saw 24 on Twitter, but I could've read it wrong.Ironman92 wrote:

Nice game from Ridout also. Great consistency from Jackson's leading scorers so far this season.

Jackson shot lights out! Eastern missed a ton of open looks. I believe that was one of the only times Eastern has faced a man to man defense all year. I thought Swatzel did a great job on the big girl. Jackson's shooters shot the ball great tonight. I think Easterns schedule will only make them better and better throughout the year. Congrats to Jackson on a big win

Jackson has really been shooting off the charts the past 3 games. Literally everyone....and if you don't pay great attention to Poe she'll go for 20 and 14 on you. Our scoring distribution has been amazing.
Best of luck to the Lady Eagles!

One team was hot - one team was cold = 11-point win.Ironman92 wrote:Well bulldog.....what do you think?
Bottom line is both are really good teams ... Eastern will do great in the DIV tourney ... Jackson is in a brutal sectional but should be fine I think ...
definitly a fun basketball game to watch ... seeing two really good teams play - compared to other girls teams/games in the area - the difference is like night and day.

One team was hot...one team was cold.
You gotta give ample credit when the visiting team travels 55+ miles to a gym they've never played in and was the "hot" team.
I wasn't there so I don't know....how did the 4th quarter go? My guess is Jackson with an 18 point lead was pressured frantically by Eastern and Eastern got some buckets off of that pressure. Refs never call anything in those situations and it's the smart thing to do if that is what Eastern did.
Jackson beat Eastern by 5 or more points in each of the first 3 quarters. I'll guess Eastern doesn't lose by 5 in 3 quarters the rest of the year at home.
I wish them well traveling to Fort Frye....another very tough matchup but kudos to Eastern for a difficult non-league schedule....could be their key to the state tournament. I hope so.
