DIV - MEIGS SECTIONAL
Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
Miller is 6-10 and if they win against an 8-7 team they are locked into the #3 seed? Lol
Having two sectionals is so not fair to everyone. Geesh

Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
I think SV is still the #2. Trimble is at .500 SV is well over that. I don't think SV will get cheated that much plus the SOC is way way better then the TVC this year its not even close.
1. Pike
2. SV
3. Trimble @ southern friday
4/5 seed is up in the air Southern plays vs Trimble, then Miller Tuesday beat miller at home but travel
6. ISJ (for now, Eastern or SG could slid in front if they win some games)
7. Eastern (plays Miller, SG and Waterford in next week. could go up or down in a hurry)
8. SG (not set)
9. Waterford
I think the only locks is Pike at #1 and Waterford at #9. Outside of that everything is still a toss up, although i believe SV has #2 taken care of.

Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
The way I see it unfolding:
1. Eastern Pike
2. Symmes Valley
3. Miller
4. Trimble
5. Southern
6. Eastern (because they could get two wins - and maybe even three before the draw.)
7. St. Joe
8. South Gallia
9. Waterford
(BTW Big Shooter - you said Eastern plays SG this week ... I don't have a date for that make-up? is it to be played Saturday?)

Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
What's the rationale behind that? Eastern is pretty good especially at home with the SOC on the line, plain and simple. Fred, who would you rank ahead of SV?Fred G. Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
So Miller is winless outside of the TVC Hocking and they are the 3? The D4 SE sectionals are about as fair as the SE D3 have been the past couple years.93Bulldog wrote:The way I see it unfolding:

I still can't fathom more than 30% of the SE coaches liking the current set up.

Eastern Pike
14-2
Symmes Valley
9-6
Trimble
9-9
Southern
8-9
Miller
7-10
St. Joe
6-11
South Gallia
5-12
Waterford
4-9
Reedsville Eastern
4-12
I don't see anything clear cut when you have two teams with 9 wins and about three games left.
Miller is 6-10 and if they win against an 8-7 team they are locked into the #3 seed? Lol Ironman 92 I would think 7 wins would be looking pretty good to you.lol

Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
I92 ... Elijah Rader was in a walking boot for the first four games when the Falcons went 0-4 ... since then they are (7-6) - but more importantly 7-4 in the Hocking (where most of the teams in this sectional are from) ... but what I was looking at is their schedule before the draw ... @ Eastern (4-12) and then Southern (8-9) and Wahama (6-9) at home ... a 10-10 record and a 10-4 mark in the Hocking will be worthy of a No. 3 seed, IMO.
(fred) ... MIller is (7-10)

Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
Look....Miller has went from the bottom to the middle when looking at the entire D4 SE....so good for the coaching staff and great for the kids. I haven't any problem with them at all.
I just hate how the SE does their tournament as far as the sectionals and the seedings. I want fair for Miller, South Gallia, New Boston, Fairfield....everyone. We are the only district in the state that does it this way. D2 is typically close to fair but D3 and D4 are laughable. Every year mediocre teams of a few leagues get a better path to advance than good teams of other leagues. Both D4 sectionals and 2/3 of the D3 sectionals are not even close to fair.

Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
It's pretty sad that were talking about the possibility that a team can be .500 and get a 3 seed . This is a weak sectional at Valley a .500 gets you a 6 or 7.

Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
Its just unpredictable every year ... this same sectional has been quite good in the past ... Southern has had great teams, Eastern with Howie Caldwell at the helm had really good teams, you still hade Eastern Pike and Symmes ... South Gallia has been to back-to-back district championship games ... even Trimble had good teams a few years ago with Jenkins and Fouts ... its just the nature of the beast ... sometimes the sectionals are loaded, sometimes they are down and sometimes they are just right.

....but what hasn't changed is that it simply is not even close to being fair for everyone involved and the leagues can greatly manipulate and do. Yes, the best teams still prevail to the regionals....but a lot of these schools have goals of reaching the Convo....and they should all have the same fair opportunity. There have been some creampuff routes to the district finals a lot over the years.

Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
Thanks npeifer ...
I92 ... South Gallia was a .500 team last year - and a low seed - yet reached the district finals after beating a high seed from the Valley sectional (Portsmouth Notre Dame) ... so don't go writting off these poor little teams form the Meigs sectional just yet.

Re: Meigs D-4 sectional.
Eastern Beaver is now 14-2 I think if they can go .500 there last 6 they lock up the #1 . But the TVC teams are all very hungery teams that play hard every night from jump ball till final horn. The Eagles and the Symmes Valley Vikeings 2 SOS 1 teams that are top 4 in there league better come ready to play these TVC schools remember tourney time every one is 0-0 I think no matter how there season goes for those two Ted if they don't make it to the convo there seasons will be considered failures by there players. We need Symmes to get healthy to rep the SOC at Eastern they had a couple of very tuff boys playing hurt . At a 100% healthy Eastern and Symmes can make some noise in the post season.

Please...Please at some point understand what I'm saying.93Bulldog wrote:Thanks npeifer ...

My #1 concern is being as fair as possible....I'm well aware of past tournament success on both sides....it is not even close to fair, that's my beef, not that the Meigs sectional is weak this year.
