Re: PVC 2013-2014
Just made it back from the preview. Watched the first two games and first 10 minutes of the MC-Bridgeport game. My thoughts....
Frontier 41 - Barnesville 17: Barnesville was not good, so it was hard to judge Frontier in some respects. Schnider MAY be the best shooter in the league if left open. Barnesville managed to leave him very wide open several times and he knocked down several 3's in response. That being said, I'm not sure they have another consistent scoring threat to beat you. They pressed and ran quite a bit to get some easy looks against a weak team. I have to say, I'm puzzled by the lack of PT a couple of younger Frontier kids got. On talent alone, they should be on the floor much more than they were, but maybe there's more the story. Overall, although they are very quick and athletic, I still can't see them knocking off any of the top 4 teams in the league.
River 33 - Beallsville 16: Looked like Beallsville had a kid injured, but other than Secrest, they really struggled tonight. River had two different groups of 5 that played together all the time. I'm not sure what the mix was, but I think the second 5 outscored the starting 5 for the game. They defended well, and rebounded well, but didn't shoot the ball well. Hard to see tonight where they go to get points consistently.
MC - Bridgeport: MC was up 17-10 after one. I again had a hard time figuring out the lineup for them Jorris didn't start, so I'm not sure what was going on. They pressed as expected, but Bridgeport handled it pretty well. Typical Scooter team, live by the 3 die by the 3. They missed several tonight though. Bridgeport has a good looking post player (Dyson) and they were able to get the ball down low against MC several times. Overall they looked rusty, maybe from football, but played as expected.
Overall, fun night to start to get back in the gym watching ball. I wasn't surprised by much of what I saw and can't say I'd change my preseason predictions any after tonight.

Re: PVC 2013-2014
Just got back from watching River scrimmage Bellaire Big Reds. Much better showing than last night at Woodsfield. Bellaire is a big scrappy team that likes the inside game. No one was hitting from the arch. played 5 qtrs. and won four of the five - most by double digits. Defense was strong - offence was good inside but spotty shooting. Another test on Tuesday with Tyler consolidated visiting River.

Cadets sure do like to get out and run, thou sometimes a bit out of control, but its fun to watch.
The freshman Anderson is playing like you would think him to be a 2nd, or 3rd year varsity player.
Coach Henniger and staff have some fine tuning to do but by Christmas break they will be much better.
Cadet JV's also won 24-12, and varsity 35-16.
Waterford will get better, Strahler and Pottmeyer both are very good and the others will get better.
Good luck to both teams.

Lil Anderson will be a starter before we know it. Boys get out play good half court D and are not scared to push the tempo.
Re: PVC 2013-2014
does anyone have FRONTIER'S boys schedule 13-14 i have look at every other site i can think of, but i can only come up with a 20 game schedule.
Re: PVC 2013-2014
The other two games are probably the OVAC tournament. Those are set dates depending on whether you are a part of the top four or not. Idk the exact dates but if those are the missing games someone on here should know them
Re: PVC 2013-2014
i didn't think FRONTIER was in the ovac league tour. maybe i'm wrong, maybe someone out there can help me on this. i had wrote early on about this topic that the d-4 sec.dist.tour. is going to be super sec.dist. tour. this yr. does anyone know where theses tour. games r going to be played at.

Frontier is in the OVAC and should have two open spots on the schedule for the year end games.

Division 4 Sectionals should be at either Union Local or New Philadelphia, depending on where each team decides to go at tournament drawing. Winner of Sectionals go to Meadowbrook for the Distrtict Championship.
At least this is what I was told.

Re: PVC 2013-2014
Fort Frye played a scrimmage that was more like a game with a very good Pburg Catholic squad. The Crusaders were lead by all state Jake Ullman.Fort Frye took 3 qts lost 1 and tied one Final 71-63 Cadets. Scoring- Legrean 23, Lang 20, Kiefer 8, Nicewanger 8, Madison 7, Jordan Anderson 3.. Cadets were without Justin Anderson and Devin Brooker. Catholic had 3 or 4 really good players and played uptempo and pressed. That was one of the better nights I've seen out of Chandler.

Wow, these two teams are scoring lots of points early in the season.
Should be fun to watch the head to head matchup. The Cadets really like the up tempo game, along with the tough man defense.

Shenandoah gets a win 60-51 over Con Valley. Con Valley only have 7 players and no JV team.

Re: PVC 2013-2014
Good showing for PVC teams last night then. What in the world happened to CV? 7 players? Bailey had that team as a legitimate threat to anyone they played last year.
MC @ Caldwell and Frontier @ River tonight. Any other games? Trail?
