I actually find it even more amusing that every time there is a topic where Athens is included there are more Logan people conversing on it than anyone from anywhere else. They must not have anything else to talk about...

Oh, and the post about beating Athens offense with Blitzes and man coverage... LOL, good luck with that. Athens probably HOPES teams will do that.

After watching films all blitz will not work, but with better skilled teams with blitz packages designed for the bullpuppies, well that's a different story.

I'm going to save everyone the time and the headache.

When Athens wins the TVC - its because the is TVC weak.
When Athens beats the SEOAL - its because the SEOAL is so down.
When Athens wins a playoff game - its because they were lucky in the seedings.
When Athens beats a team like Shawnee - its because Shawnee upset a better team the week before.
If Athens wins the region - its because the region was terribly weak.
If Athens won a state title - its because the entire state of Ohio was down.

That's Paladin' game ... he's a one trick pony and the trick is getting old ... we've got it figured out - find a new one please.

Like I said earlier, I hope the region comes down to Athens or Chilly. I think Athens has a darn fine team and I'm pulling for them completely! Here's to a deep run!

I've noted that I think Athens skill players are as good as anyone's in the region and I stand by that statement. I like our offensive scheme and think we can score points. The line is young, as is the entire team (only 2 seniors even play) so that may be an issue. I'm a common sense kind of guy and know Marion Franklin is the best team. DeSales would be a tough match-up no doubt. I also don't want to see a good, power run team like New Philly. If Athens has to square off against Dover or Tri-Valley, I think it would be an awesome game and one general football fans would enjoy.

i go to the athens games and they play more than 2 seniors there's only 7 one being the kicker the other 6 are on defence and 5 of them play all the time

lol, I couldn't careless about someone from Logan. Its like jjhuddle, u have half the ppl that like Athens because of their monster of an offense and the other half that says they suck cuz they are from SEO. Athens goal is state, nothing less

All the way to Regional Finals, but Marion Franklin proves too much at that point.

It will be interesting to see how the region ends up ... lots of scenarios have No. 2 Marion Franklin playing No. 7 DeSales in week 11 ... if that happens, Athens could possibly not even see MF.

But I've been saying all year - week 11 will be a huge test for Athens no matter who they play ... the region is loaded with good football teams, even though Paladin will say its not.

I'm not worried about who Athens would play in the regional finals - I'm just hoping they survive and advance next Friday.
