Re: Meigs (1-0) at Fairland (1-0)
Meigs hung 46 on Coal Grove but gave up over 500 yards and 44 points last week while Fairland scored 42 themselves, I think 21-14 may be a halftime score.vike fan wrote:nope....... 21-14 Fairland

Re: Meigs (1-0) at Fairland (1-0)
if fairland runs the spread, they will chew up meigs secondary. meigs left people wide, wide open all night long. but number 21 for meigs is a player. i say fairland 48-20

Re: Meigs (1-0) at Fairland (1-0)
Fairland v. Meigs since 2001 (Home team)
2001 - Fairland, 29-0 (F)
2002 - Meigs, 33-0 (M)
2003 - Fairland, 29-0 (F)
2004 - Meigs, 36-24 (M)
2005 - Meigs, 34-30 (F)
2006 - Meigs, 34-14 (M)
2007 - Fairland, 48-43 (F)
2008 - Meigs, 26-23 (M)
2009 - Fairland, 34-27 (F)
2010 - Meigs, 13-6 (M)
2011 - Meigs, 27-20 (F)
2012 - Fairland, 30-12 (M)
2013 - TBA, (F)
I'm gonna have to go with Fairland in this one. It's the home opener, and while both teams can put points on the board, from what I've heard Meigs' secondary isn't that strong and I look for the Dragons to use that to their advantage and have Short lobbing it down the field often.
At the half: 27-24, Fairland
Final score: 42-36, Fairland
2001 - Fairland, 29-0 (F)
2002 - Meigs, 33-0 (M)
2003 - Fairland, 29-0 (F)

2005 - Meigs, 34-30 (F)

Re: Meigs (1-0) at Fairland (1-0)
Meigs runs a fast tempo offense that will score and move the ball. QB Sheets had over 100 yards rushing
and passing making him a great duel threat. Sheets can also hand off ball to a stable of quick tailbacks and big powerful fullbacks.
Their special teams, which is often not discussed, had a great game.
Meigs is also in tremendous condition with lots of athletes as Coal Grove found out last weekend. All their training and work is showing.
I see Meigs getting better every game and their defense tightening up.
Go Meigs!

Re: Meigs (1-0) at Fairland (1-0)
This has all the makings of a fun one: two offenses that can move the ball in a hurry and two defenses that leave much to be desired. Going with whoever gets the ball last.
Re: Meigs (1-0) at Fairland (1-0)
Fairland has a big 4 man front. Couple of them are agile and dirty. If Meigs has a decent size line they should be good.
Re: Meigs (1-0) at Fairland (1-0)
I will go with Meigs on this one 42-38. Meigs is quick and conditioned for this game

Re: Fairland 33 Meigs 20
Meigs is a tough team, but they shot themselves in the foot in the 4th by hitting Vidal and getting the roughing the kicker penalty which gave the Dragons the ball back deep in Marauder territory with the scored tied at 20. Fairland scored on the ensuing drive, then recovered the ball on the kickoff to score again. Penalties also took the wind out of a couple Dragon plays. Nathan Campbell's 2nd INT run was called back on a bad block.
This win should be a big confidence booster for the green team as they head into week 3 against Gallia. I really think Meigs only other losses this season will be Athens on the road, and maybe Vinton County. Good luck to them!
