During the varsity portion (1st half)..
Vinton Co-27
Huntington-0
VC's first two drives were two plays each and two scores. This team can run, pass, and defend. They're quicker, stronger and smarter than last year. Look out.

Defensive battle at Belpre with Belpre scoring with 17 seconds left in 3rd quarter on a 24 yd pass from Tavian Miller to Freshman Dijon Bedgood to take the first unit game 6-0 over Parkesburg Catholic. The Jv,s played the 4th quarter with Catholic winning 7-0.Pretty solid performance for the Eagles but to many penalties,a couple on some big plays that hurt a couple of good drives.

Re: TVC Jamboree Updates/Results
Was there a JV portion for Huntington? The final was 27-20. Huntington scores 20 unanswered points against our JV with their starting fullback and tailback. And as the 2nd half progressed more and more of their starters came in. I watched several of their kids walk off the field with clean uniforms. Their #s were 9, 10, 20 and they had green pants on while their varsity wore all white. IMO their coaching staff did their young kids a disservice (while helping ours) by not giving them reps in a game situation against kids their own age. Instead they chose to take advantage of the situation and put points on the board. For what? So they can say the score was 27-20? Everyone knows that this game is a glorified scrimmage. Our JV (freshmen w/a few sophomores sprinkled in) got valuable reps and did pretty well against their sophomores and juniors for sure, and maybe even some seniors. Thanks for helping make our kids tougher.Dundas wrote:During the varsity portion (1st half)..

Gallipolis beat Meigs 38-33 Friday night. Gallipolis won the first half, 38-13. Meigs won the second half, 20-0. Marauders have several young athletes coming up. Will be tough next few years.

I'm not sure of the score but I heard that Wellston got knocked around pretty good by Zane Trace. Offense was non existent.

Vctransplant...you need to know something about what is going on at Huntington before you run your mouth. The three kids that didn't get to play were not aloud to play because they just come out for the team when school started. They didn't have enough days in They asked the coach if they could dress and he let them. This years coach played every young kid he was allowed to play As far as the tailback (#5) he is not the starting TB and this was his first scrimmage because Thursday was his first day of contact and the fullback that ran all over your reserve team is a freshman. Don't bash the staff at Huntington if you want the truth there was only a hand full of seniors that played at all the hole night. This years team is filled with underclassman you have 4 10 graders and 5 Juniors and two seniors that started and handful of freshman that subbed. VC is a nice team and was physical but please don't bash the team or staff
