Defensive battle at Belpre with Belpre scoring with 17 seconds left in 3rd quarter on a 24 yd pass from Tavian Miller to Freshman Dijon Bedgood to take the first unit game 6-0 over Parkesburg Catholic.The Jv,s played the 4th quarter with Catholic winning 7-0.Pretty solid performance for the Eagles but to many penalties,a couple on some big plays that hurt a couple of good drives.

Vctransplant...you need to know something about what is going on at Huntington before you run your mouth. The three kids that didn't get to play were not aloud to play because they just come out for the team when school started. They didn't have enough days in They asked the coach if they could dress and he let them. This years coach played every young kid he was allowed to play As far as the tailback (#5) he is not the starting TB and this was his first scrimmage because Thursday was his first day of contact and the fullback that ran all over your reserve team is a freshman. Don't bash the staff at Huntington if you want the truth there was only a hand full of seniors that played at all the hole night. This years team is filled with underclassman you have 4 10 graders and 5 Juniors and two seniors that started and handful of freshman that subbed. VC is a nice team and was physical but please don't bash the team or staff

Would never bash the kids. But the staff left your starters in no matter what you say. And once again I thank them for helping make our young kids tougher. Cudos to VC's coach for not putting his starters back in and running the score up. He stuck by his guns and played his JV the whole second half.

I'm not sure of the score but I heard that Wellston got knocked around pretty good by Zane Trace. Offense was non existent.

Zane Trace was huge up front and Wellston did indeed get knocked around a little up front, .. but penalties and turnovers is what really hurt Wellston. They put the ball on the ground on the 3rd play of the game and their defense were backed up. They scored on a 40 yard run and it was called back. They put another drive together where they looked like they were going to score and penalties killed it. The QB fumbled a couple snaps. You cant have penalties kill your drive and you CANNOT turn the ball over. Wellstons D had a couple stops and looked good at times but the two drives Zane Trace scored they could simply NOT stop the run.
