Nothing really stood out to me, but most things are so vanilla its hard to judge. However, Coal Grove fumbled three times in the first quarter (2 by Gunther and he was injured on the second one. Couldn't tell which, but couldn't put any weight on it. I hope it isn't anything seriou Steele last year. Third one the south point defender just ripped it away from the running back.). South point was up 14-6 when we left. Rock Hill moved the ball well at times and got to the one. However, a holding penalty negated a touchdown. Fairland beat River Valley 13-7, and Chesapeake beat Rock Hill 7-0.

South point won 14-12 which I think surprised a few fans...Yes Coal Grove did give up 3 fumbles and an interception but that's part of the game....Sp QB wasn't near as precise with his passes as he usually is or the score IMO would have been worse....Best game of the night hands down...seemed like this game lasted an eternity compared to the other 2 games...Passing stopped the clock which made it longer or could it have been refs were waiting for CG to take lead so they could finally end it.....Just Kidding!! lol...Clocks weren't working time was kept on the field....Refs blew it by not letting announcer know times at intervals and relay this to the fans who were kept in the dark all 3 games..The Young Pointers held their own and more against an over confident
CG the way I saw it.........

Fairland by far was the best team in the entire OVC preview!!!

Wow!!!!!! Not even the regular season yet, and already RV bashing!!! At least there is consistency! (Sarcasm intended)

I stayed for the first two games. It's a glorified scrimmage. It's pointless to talk about who beat who. I thought RV had some good size up front and some good-looking skill players.
Rock Hill also looked good at times; hopefully the beatings the young team took last year will pay off this year and translate into more wins.
I'd like to see a lot more competition this year in the OVC slate. The past few years have really been very predictable.
