Keep putting all the emphasis on the big non league all star teams bulldog! My Vikes will be laying in the weeds waiting to defend that TVC title for a 4th straight year :)

That's like saying the Gallia game is more important than Nelsonville-York week 10 on the gridiron ... wishful thinking Dundas, but the 'Dogs know what's at stake when they share the floor with the Vikes!

Haha! I expect nothing less than a "dogfight" when the Vikes and Dogs meet up on the hardwood!

Regarding the Athens schedule.. its odd to see the SEOAL teams drop them. I could see if it was 2008 (the year Athens joined the TVC)..but 5 years later? Makes you wonder...
Does anyone know who Gallia, Jackson and Logan replaced Athens with? I know VC still plays all three teams this year, so it must not be a collective effort to not play TVC teams.. just Athens.

Logan will be playing VC twice and I was told they are also going to play Wellston in place of Athens.

go figure.

Have you heard the saying cut your nose off to spite your face. That is what Logan just did. Replacing a rival game against a D2 power with an average at best D3 team. There is a money maker for them. LMAO

Will Logan still be playing Alexander and NY as well? There has to be some underlying issue from Logan, Gallia and Jackson. Logan played Athens tough at home and pulled out an overtime thriller last year and if I'm not mistaken, didn't Athens only beat Gallia by three early in the year? Granted, Athens has alot of talent coming back and should be very solid.. I just can't believe they decided to drop them from a competition standpoint ..it has to be something else. I can understand Jackson dumbing down their schedule..but not Gallia or Logan. Plus, there was a pretty big crowd at Logan's gym when Athens made the trip up 33 last year...I'm just confused. Hopefully someone has the legitimate answer behind it all.

Bulldog.. how long are the contracts between Gallia and Jackson on the gridiron? Just curious as to if they are cutting ties altogether or just on the hardwood.

... Logan ,as 93dog posted, will pickup a 2nd game vs Vinton Co., added a game with Wellston, still playing Alexander for a one matchup as well ... Logan will be playing Sheridan for a home & home out of the MVL ... the Purple will also see non league teams Unioto (1), Wadkins (1), St. Charles (1), Teays Valley (1), Lancaster (1), Fairfield Union (1), Bloom Carroll (1) & Chesapeake (1) ...2 league games each with the remaining cast of characters Gallia, Jacskon, Portsmouth, Warren ... out of the teams left on the schedule non league foes want to play AT Logan to get a feel for the floor/rims for when they come calling in the DII section ( Vinton County, Sheridan, FU) fall into that category ...I hate to NOT SEE Athens on the schedule for 2013-14 ...

You just want to see and talk to ol 93Dog ... that's cool Floyd, you can say it ... "you'll miss 93's annual visit to Jim Myers Gymnasium."

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Question: 'if' Athens plays in the Bannon Classic and ends up beating Warren - could that pre-season ranking change?

What a gip! lol

UPDATES FROM MARIETTA SHOOT-OUT THIS AFTERNOON ...

Athens beat Fort Frye by 12, beat Delaware, and then defeated Paden City ... without Zacciah Saltzmen and Ryan Leuhrman, who sprained an ankle during the Fort Frye game.

The problem with 93Dog is he's a cheapskate and brought the purple hippo that cheap Zanzi's pizza instead of the good stuff from Pizza Crossing.

BTW...Circleville beat Warren last week in summer action.

Coach Maddox and staff are playing 13 kids at this point so I'm sure that the team that will play the majority min during the season aren't playing a lot together right now. This is the time of year that coaches evaluwait talent and combinations.
Of course every team that happens to beat Warren during the summer will try to take advantage of the confidence boost by a win over the Warriors. Preseason has little bearing on who will be champion of PFloyd's distinguished poll!

GO BIG BAD BLUE

I couldn't agree more. Athens rotated 13 -14 kids in yesterday at the Marietta Shootout.

HA!

Football is still 'king' my friend ... its just the calm before the storm right now ... once August hits, hoops will be put on hold for a few months.
