Division III Districts at Oak Hill

Post by racewalker »

The meet program can now be found at
http://www.baumspage.com/tf/se/2012/oak ... rogram.htm

Based on the number of participants entered into the events, the girls 800 will not be ran in the North or South Division. The boys 1600 will be contested as a preliminary.

Why aren't the boys split into north and south like the girls. This is the largest district boys meet in the state. If you look at the other districts many are split even though they have less teams than the southeast. Ridiculous! Is this seodab or ohsaa decision?

Gotta get more boys entered and participating in the meet.

What time will the running start tomorrow? 10:00 or 11:00?

Ironman92....Neither.

Running events start at 9:45 with field events at 9:30.

See you there in 7 hours with camera in hand.

Bedtime awaits for now.

Congrats to Whiteoak's Clarissa Johnson qualifying for the regionals in the 100, 200 and 300h for the 2nd consecutive year.

Any word on the Adena hurdler who needed to be escorted via ambulance after falling?

The last report I got today was that Adena hurdler Fletcher Anderson was transported to Grant in Columbus.

Hope he is okay, because I saw him fall and it was quite a scary scene.

Congrats to all regional qualifiers.

Keep doing that and it'll change....the girls was that way for a while and the boys had it easier....and have in XC for several years.

That all goes back to the number of full teams entered into the meet. It takes nine individuals to make up a team in the eyes of OHSAA. There are over 800 schools that run track and field but many of those teams do not enter 9 different athletes in the district track meet.

For track to every get to the position of having 4 divisions as they should there needs to be more full teams entered. The kids do not have to score or do well. It really is up to the coaches at these under represented schools to make a difference. They could pick up 1 or 2 bodies and let them compete. A no hight in the HJ or a 10 foot long jump or shot throw will add numbers. The greater the numbers the more teams and that will stop these hugh district meets.
