Shawnee State University Spring Prospect Camp

Post by futbolisweird »

Shawnee State University Head Baseball Coach Ted Tom is pleased to announce Sunday May 19th as the date for the sixth annual Spring Prospect Showcase. The showcase will be held at Branch Rickey Park, home of the Shawnee State Bears baseball team, in Portsmouth, OH and will be conducted by the SSU coaching staff directly. Camp will consist of a pro-style workout along with a short intro to the baseball program and tour of campus. Cost for the camp is $75 for individual players and is open to all players ages 15-21. The Bears are coming off an historic three year stretch that has seen the Bears accumulate 100 victories, two conference championships, and one NAIA Regional appearance. In those three years, Coach Tom has led his team to the conference championship game three times. Camps at Shawnee State have proven to be a successful recruiting tool for the program as at least one player has signed to play at Shawnee State from every single camp hosted by the current staff. There are 14 players on the current roster that have attended camp in the past, including 9 that attended last year.

Registration and additional information can be found online at shawneestatebaseballcamps.com

Any HS player still in the tournament cannot go to this.

That would be a violation and end your HS season. OHSAA has need very straightforward on this.

Thank you for the quick response. It should be noted that we run this have this camp at roughly the same time every year (after sectionals) depending on our schedule here on campus and we certainly have no interest in having an effect on player eligibilty. The players we get routinely in this camp are players that have just been knocked out and are looking at what options they may have moving forward. It is a great time of year for them because they are generally in great shape and in between spring and summer seasons.

Thanks again for your quick attention to the timing of our camp. Please feel free to call or email if you have any further questions.

I will say this is a good camp. My younger kids that have attended love it.
