Early Look at SOC-Boys-2016

Post by noreply66 »

Wheelersburg

Burg should have good relay teams with 4x1 and 4x200 being the best. Might be a little weak in the field events. Will be down in the 800,1600,3200 where they might have trouble scoring point. Sprints should bring in big points in the league meet. Hurdles will be average overall. At this time I only see three events that could keep them from getting points and they would be the 800, 1600 and 3200. Wheelersburg will settle in and be in the thick of things come league time.

Western

Western will probably finish in the bottom half when it come for the league meet. Only see scoring in 5 events with the
200 bring the best. Relay teams will struggle with the same in the field events. Long jumpers could be a bright spot.

Waverly

Only see a couple events where Waverly might have trouble and that would be 100 meters and the pole vault. 4x100 looks to be the lowest of the relays. Should get a lot of points in 4 of the 5 field events. Hurdlers look good with the 300 bringing the most points. 800,1500,3200 look solid.

Valley

Another team that will struggle this year. Bottom half of the league with scoring coming from about a half dozen events. Shot put and discus looks to be their best events.

South Webster

Most of this teams points will come from 800, 1600,3200 and solid point in the pole vault. After these events it will be hard for them to pick up points.

Portsmouth West

West should be a top five team in the SOC this year. The field events plus the 800 and 3200 will keep them from battling the top teams in the league. They should score in all the relays with the 4x100 being the best.

Portsmouth Clay

Clay will find the going real hard this year. Most of the events will be hard for them to score in.

Oak Hill

Around six events will bring Oak Hill their points. Should score in 3 of the 4 relays. In the field events the pole vault looks to be the only one to get points in. They should finish in the middle of the pack come the league meet.

Notre Dame

Notre Dame can score in better than half the events but most of the point will be 5th thur 8th.All relay teams should score points but only the pole vault looks to be a point getter in the field events. 300 hurdles will be able to pick up points too.

Northwest

Should be able to score enough point to break into the top five. Should score in all the relays. Long jump and pole vault might be the only field event that will bring in points. 100 and 200 will also add points.

Minford

Minford will put up points in any meet they go to this year. 200 looks to be a down event at this point. Overall the relay teams are above average. All the field events look solid. Look for more than one boy to place in the 1600, Shot put, high jump, 800, 3200.

Green

Green will not score too many point. Might sneak in some points in the 4x100

Eastern

Should put points on the board with the 4x200, 1600, high jump and 800

The Finish

Minford should start out fast in the first couple events but look for Wheelersburg to take the lead after the third event. Waverly and Minford will catch them around the finish of the 300. After the next couple of events it might look like Minford will put them away. The next three events will see Waverly put Wheelersburg out of it but Minford is keeping it close. Over the last two events will see Minford out score Waverly and win the title. Waverly could win the championship if Minford has a bad 4x400.
