Burg hasnt had a losing record since the 60's Burg might have a season here and there that they go 6-4 or 7-3 but thats the worst I have ever seen it doesnt take Burg very long to get it rolling again
I think Tony Lewis had his first team in 02 and went 5-5.
Burg actually finished that year 5-6 after losing to Minford twice in the same year. Once in the regular season and then in the playoffs. I believe that was also the year Minford used Northwest for the home games because of the 90 yard field incident. That was first losing season since 1964.
2002 burg finished 5-5 and did not make the playoffs.

2000 Wheelersburg went 5-5 and lost to Minford in the playoffs. 2003 was when Minford had to play their home games at Northwest.

BTW - I hate seeing Holden in the backfield running the sweep. It's like taking a Ferrari off-roading.
Go Burg.
I have to agree and I wish they would quit trying to run Reyes between the tackles. Run him on more jet sweeps. Utilize his speed to the outside. When he runs up the middle he gets bottlenecked and can't get out of there.

Burg just needs to take care of business!

Isn't the Burg close to the school record of 32 straight regular season wins????
The Burg sits at 30 straight regular season wins. By around 10pm on October 27th will be their 35TH STRAIGHT REGULAR SEASON VICTORY!!! Courtesy of the Portmouth Worst Siders.

The Burg should now be at 31 straight regular season wins and can tie the school record next week against Waverly and then break it against Minford.

How sweet that would be!!!!

Whatever year it was, Wheelersburg did have a losing season and it was the first and only since since 1964. I wonder how many other schools can say that. If they hadn't made the playoffs that year by just a small margin they would be going for 53 years in row this season.

Hey Scott. I like you and all. But get off it dude. Burg has a winning tradition, nobody is questioning that. Not once. Sit back, relax and enjoy your time on earth being a Burg fan. It's great. Nothing like it. No time for the petty stuff.

The facts are all records include the playoffs since their inception to the game. The Burg went 5-6 that year losing to Minford twice. If they hadn't made the playoffs that year as a #4 seed(only 4 from each region then)by the slimmest of margins the steak would be at 53 years, but it's not. Like it of not, and no matter how you spin it, they did indeed have a losing season.

I don't think we can call that guy a legend. He never played a down of football and I doubt he ever watched it. I know him. Lmao. Minford had to play their home games in McDermott. Rofl.
