Jackson 34 Fairfield Union 0
Jackson 34 Fairfield Union 0
Jackson makes a lengthy trip up NE of Lancaster, near Rushville Friday night to face Fairfield Union. Jackson looking to clean a few areas up and keep the train going forward. FU coming off a loss to New Lexington. Jackson handled New Lex in a scrimmage but that doesn’t always tell the whole story.
FU had a solid QB last year but I know lost stud lineman Woodside to graduation.
Jackson will be looking to improve on special teams and have 4 good quarters from the offensive line. Jackson looked very good at Wellston. Loved the offensive scheme and defense is lights out.
Go Ironmen!

Re: Jackson (1-0) @ Fairfield Union (0-1)
I’ve been there for track meets and believe the visitor bleachers are a decent size (about 8 rows from 25 yd line to the other 25...but not sure if there is anywhere else for the band to sit. Should hold the crowd Jackson will bring and fans won’t have to arrive 90 min early. Traffic is very busy for that Lancaster section of Rt 22....especially on a Friday
Re: Jackson (1-0) @ Fairfield Union (0-1)
Yeah going to go with a running clock in this one, Jackson's defense is primed already given how early in the season it is.

Re: Jackson (1-0) @ Fairfield Union (0-1)
not going to say a guaranteed running clock.......but will say the ironmen are going to show up with all sorts of weapons on both sides of the ball and take it to the bank they are going to hit Fairfield Union a little differently than New Lex did......

Jackson folks, 33 to main street (22)won't be all that bad. BUT if the gps is showing heavy traffic, turn right on wilsons lane, which sits on the long straight away after coming off the bypass and has a lake you can see. Then take a left onto surgar grove road, and stay straight until you reach the stop light. Turn right and you're on 22 and straight to the high school.
But traffic in lancaster is much lighter now with the bypass.
Once you you get to the stadium there is plenty of parking at the high school or you can pay to park inside the gates behind the home bleachers. The facility is really nice, and has huge bathrooms.
As far as concessions, the boosters do a great job and you HAVE to get a shredded chicken sandwhich.
The field this year is brand new, and I've heard nothing but good things so far.

This is a game that Jackson should dominate from start to finish.

In case anyone is trying to grab a bite to eat before or after the game, where do you recommend that’s close to FU? I know a couple places in eastern Lancaster, but curious what you can suggest first.Falcon01 wrote: Mon Aug 27, 2018 7:32 pm Jackson folks, 33 to main street (22)won't be all that bad. Re: Jackson (1-0) @ Fairfield Union (0-1)
I’d say this may be one of the best. Was nice to see the VC boys playing well last Saturday. Good luck against FFU this week. We get them in week 3.Poo Bear wrote: Mon Aug 27, 2018 11:12 pm The weakest Jackson team in 10 years need to keep working . Each and every game will a battle . Good luck Ironmen .

A few blocks west (closer into the downtown) on 22 is a nice hole in the wall called the “Main Event.” Good drafts, reasonable prices. Awesome fried bologna.

The Yates and Spires families know how to get to Fairfield Union.
Don't beat them too bad, we have them next week.

Very highly recommend cherry street pub, which is right off esst main. If you come 33 to 22 and go through downtown Lancaster then the best options are the Ale House1890 or bobs BBQ. There is also roosters and bdubs, but good luck getting a seat at roosters.formerfcfan wrote: Mon Aug 27, 2018 10:23 pmIn case anyone is trying to grab a bite to eat before or after the game, where do you recommend that’s close to FU?
