Was Bert playing by the agreement when he flipped a PSU commitment?

Oh I see, well with Gholston I don't think he was ever in question. UM never felt like they had a shot.

Probably not.

Tressel kept a good relationship with his former guys like Mark.

That relationship is gone.

Matt Barnes from NBC4 just tweeted this:

“@Matt_NBC4: Just chatted with Brady Hoke here in CBus for OH coaches clinic. He agrees with Urban. Recruiting guys with verbal commits is fair game.”

That's funny, my friend is at the same clinic, said he chatted w/Vrabel and Hoke. Told me Vrabel said if buckeye fans think Brady isn't going to make UM into a power again they need to wake up. This is going to be a war. Direct quote from Vrabel.

Hoke was doing a defensive presentation.

According to sportingnews, Barry Alverez is scheduled to talk to Delany re:Urban Meyer recruiting.

Don't shoot the messenger. Said re: contacting kids illegally and mentioning certain unsigned kids.

Excellent, a southern hill jack saying. I am impressed. Yes, you believe you go 12-0, a good majority of you were singing the same tune last season saying your going to win the Big Ten. You won 6 games. I said we would win 9, we won 11. Be realistic, look at your team objectively. You won't see me saying we are going 13-0 and marching to the NC. No we have holes to fill, we lost the top Center in the country, we lost our top TE and WR. We lost our two best DT's. I get that. We play Bama, probably going to take one on the chin. Good news is the only game I am really concerned about outside of that one is MSU (at home) and Ohio State (because it is The Game). We could easily go 8-4 next year. I am not saying we won't, we could just as easily go 11-1. We will see. But good God some of you grow up and look at things like adults.[/quote]

Peake I liked some of your responses. We definately agree on everything but DL & RB. Time will tell who is right DL. We will never know at RB (I still like all ours above any of yours).

Yes I believe we can go 12-0. I think we go 11-1. We might go 10-2. There is my objectivity. But, we will NOT go worse than that. I said we would go 6-6 to 10-2 based on the crap storm and inexperience. When asked for a tighter prediction i said 7-5 or 8-4 so i guess i underestimated Bollman's ineptitude a little! No homer goggles on spamony.

We will be better at every position on the field in 2012 except center. Not one team we lost to last year can say that. We lost to those teams by less than a TD each! Add to that (we all will agree on this) our coaching staff is exponentially better in 2012. The only prediction an OBJECTIVE ADULT can issue SUCCESS. No hilljackness, homerism or antiTSUNism involved. Just good old fashion common sense and deductive reasoning. By the way i think you guys go 10-2 with 2 very ugly defeats. But bounce back to eventually be 12-2 smelling roses!

I'm sure Wisconsin believes the same way UM did concerning the quiet and dead period contact, and that is what they are deeming illegal.

Problem is, as pointed out directly in the NCAA definition of quiet and dead period, Meyer didn't do anything illegal.

Meyer and Hoke are going to make the rest of the conference actually work in December, and Wisconsin is sad about that!

Yeah, I mean it is what it is, regardless I am more for beating people on the field, so it really doesn't matter to me. Meyer didn't beat UM for anyone due to either, so it doesn't matter to me. Just wanted to pass it along.

@Spamony,

I don't know what other evidence you need on our runningbacks. Our starting tail back essentially ran for 1000 yards in 6 games and ran all over OSU. I don't know why you think any of your backs are better, because if they were, they would have been better. That is all the evidence I need. Fitz ran for 120 yards, averaged 6 yards a carry, and busted a 46 yarder on you. Boom ran for all of 37 yards and no other running back got a single carry. Throw in the fact that Denard is essentially a running back, and you think you have two better backs then Denard and Fitz? If you do I don't know what else to tell you. I guess you probably think your backs are better then Wisconsin and Michigan State too?

You will be better at every position?
WR-You have a better wideout then Posey?
RB-You have a better RB then Boom?
OT- You have a better OT then Adams?

So Michigan will by default be better at WR despite losing our best WR? I think that is fantastic logic.

If Michigan loses by 21+ I will want the entire staff at Michigan gone! I am sorry but Michigan is equally as talented as Ohio State right now and our guys are all upper class guys. If we lose in the shoe by 21+ then someone on the Michigan staff better lose their job. Not to mention that Meyer lost 4 at Florida year 1, with a far more talented team then OSU currently has.

You see I don't think you are improving at every position. Creating quality depth? Sure. Your talent is not standard OSU talent. Outside of Williams, where is the first round talent? Where is all of the NFL talent. Right now it is not there outside of Williams and Simon on D, and on offense I don't see a single player that is a first 3 rounds type.

BTW, I did a little research, Kyle Reed of Nebraska is considered the best TE in the conference, Stoneburner right behind him.

Anyways, I don't objectivity in your post when you call your DL the best in the nation, you rank your 4-deep at RB better then Michigan and declare that Fitz Toussaint wouldn't start at OSU. You've just lost three OL who between them probably have 100+ starts, two will go on the first day in the NFL draft, and by default you will be better upfront. You LB's are the worst I have seen in 20 years at OSU (please try and debate this), your secondary I have to believe will be better, but the talent is still not there that is the OSU gold standard. I think you're going to be good, but if you look at your talent outside of the freshmen you just brought in, I don't see it compared to a standard 10-11 win OSU team.

I really do think our 2nd and 3rd RB's are better then Boom to be honest.... the Hyde and Hall combo is a two headed beast. I really dont think Boom will be missed that much.

Then you must not have watched many of your games last year. That two headed beast was not a beast when given the chance to be a beast. After missing 5 games the coaching staff didn't think either two were better then Boom. I mean in 12 games Hyde only hit 500 yards and Hall 400, while Boom hit nearly 700 in only 7 games. Good logic.

Geesh, this Urban Meyer thing is like a fairy tale for you OSU folks. You ignore reality and forget that last season happened and go straight to thinking about what will be. How quickly you dismiss the past so you can make your arguments fit your current team. Yeah I bet you won't miss nearly 3000 yards and 32 touchdowns from Boom.

Despite all this some of you think Hyde and Hall are better then Ball, White, Bell, Toussaint, Coker, and Baker. Sad.

Hyde didnt hardly play after Boom came back did you happen to watch Hyde in the Neb game. And in no way shape or form did I Say those kids were better then Ball, White, Bell, Toussaint, Coker, and Baker... If givin the starting job this past year there is no doubt in my mind Hyde could have went for 1000+ he did good for what he got thats what im saying...

Last season was full of scandal, controversy and a fill in head coach that had no clue of what was going on followed up by an offensive coordinator who would be more productive serving hot dogs in Times Square.

It seems like there are many people with one view of what is going to happen and then there is yours. Kinda funny isnt it?

I dont know about a 21 pt win over UM next year at the Shoe, but I will tell you that based on Meyer's track history with talent in rivalry games he would hang as many points as he could on the rival. Hoke may as well start rehearsing his post game speech on how "Ohio (what a boob)" had their way with tsun. Mark my words, it wont be pretty on 11/24/12.

I think you will see next year that when facing a very good defensive front, Toussaint will look like an average D1 back. Nobody but you is going to glorify him yet.

I will take Hall, Hyde and Smith over any backs at UM next year.

Very happy with Coach Meyer's first class at OSU..........I think the Buckeyes will be much better in 2012, but still some holes need to be filled and a new system will have to be learned.........I am excited about the DL recruits, which collectively seem to be one of the best in the country.

I don't see anything wrong with Meyer's recruiting tactics.......what he did was very legal but in the eyes of some Big Ten coaches unethical.........but nothing is finalized until signing day..........kids are allowed to change their minds, and with a lot of coaching hires from December to February, kids relationships with schools and coaches change as well.

Michigan is my pick to win the Big Ten in 2012........but the game in the Horseshoe will be really tough to win for the Wolverines..........not only is it Ohio State vs. Michigan, it is also OSU's bowl game with the sanctions handed down........and the Buckeyes by then should have a good handle on Coach Meyer's system.

And just so you know, Tousssaint had 685 yards the last 6 games of the year. Thats a far cry from 1000.

@trrojandave....You are the voice of reason for this group of buckeye fans. You call it what it is. You notice there are holes to be filled, not claiming to have all-americans at every position. You are correct it will be OSU's bowl game come 11/24, and just as I did last year, I am not calling a blowout, only saying I think a senior led team made up of mostly upper class guys will be extremely hard to beat. By the time UM gets to OSU their schedule next year is brutal and will have prepared them for this game.

I guess I see it as I did with the 07 Florida team. A lot of young talent all over the field vs a very veteran UM team.

@bleeding red,

Yes red, I am a real voice of reason. So yes there are biased Ohio State fans, and then there is a voice of reason. How crazy of me to think that OSU wouldn't win 10+ games. I mean it's not like I haven't seen Urban Meyer lose for games before (actually he has lost 4 once and 5 once) :122246. Urban was 3-3 v LSU and 2-3 v Alabama. Sorry if I am not cringing. I always give OSU the credit when they deserve it, which is more then I can say about OSU fans on here when it comes to Michigan. Ok, next year we will have a good defensive front too. We already faced Simon and Hankins, and Denard and Fitz ran for over 300 yards against them. I know they will be improved, good for them, I guess our OL will have nothing to say about any of this. Try actually reading something outside of buckeye stuff, people are raving about Toussaint. I am willing to bet by mid year, your starting RB will be a freshmen named Dunn. That is how good those two backs are.

@Vegas, Fitz started 6-7 game the entire year. He was injured after the first game, didn't play against ND, played all of two snaps v Michigan state, and was injured again in the Iowa game. To finish off the regular season the last 4 out of 5 games he averaged 140 a game. He finished the year with over 1000 yards.

So youre telling me he is the only back you have???????? we had 3 to 4 RBs at the time.... when you are the only RB on your team worth a dime you are going to get those carries... For time time Hyde got he did a nice job thats a fact.... And If Boom hadnt have played which we knew he was going to Hyde would have went for 1000+.... AND btw in 07 the year you got beat by App St when you sqeaked by UF correct me if im wrong but wasnt Tebow hurt or dinged up with a bad wrist and shoulder for that game????

Hankins had a busted knee in the UM game and was out of position most times.
Also Shazier had a bad knee in the game.

The defense will be much, much better than last year. I question how Michigan's secondary will play without the front line presence of Martin and VanBergen.

Either way, like I said earlier. We should at least wait until the spring game to declare OSU as kings of the conference again.

Peake is comparing the players he saw from last years Buckeye offense without taking into account that they will not be running vannilla plays called by Bollman!

Will he miss Boom? Yes at first, but the top 4 guys at OSU would start for at least 9 of the other conference teams!

Gonzo will be actually used!!! And will be the best TE in the conference, if not the country! Take that to the bank!!!

The O-Line is my concern. It all starts up front and they replace 3 guys with players that were not good last year. They must make major improvements with the new staff and system, or else we may go 8-4. The defense doesn't bother me, they'll be the top D in the conference. The RB and TE position will be great. The WRs are young and green, but they won't be running time consuming routes that Miller can't get the ball to.

It all comes down to the Buckeye O Line. If it doesn't improve, then Peake wins, and no matter how good the defense does, we lose 4 games. But, if the O-line fixes the scheme issues and plays like they should, then with the new system, they will be the dominant B10 team and, I'll put it out there, if the O-Line gets it together, the Buckeyes win every game next year!
