Re: Jackson at Western Brown
Defense getting beat deep down the field. Run game has been good and the passes out of the play action have been great .
Strange play call on 4th and 1 at the 1 was unsuccessful. Lucky Mr Clutch Evan Spires puck 6 next play or it’s 14-14 at the half. Look for a lot of #5 next half. Either way it’s a ball game that will go down to the wire .

Winters powers them down the field for another score (Spires 10 yd run)
49-21
49-21
Re: Jackson at Western Brown
Sounds like the Ironmen played a great second half, with the exception of giving up one big pass play. Running game was strong, hit some big passes that were set up by the run. Defense has been dominant against the run, but has had some secondary issues with blown coverages, etc. Getting Prater back would certainly help the secondary, so hopefully he's able to give it a go soon.
Big game next week. Burg has won 6 of the last 7 against the Ironmen. Time to play four quarters of great football and get some payback against them.

Jackson’s QB Icenhour played lights out! He controlled the offense well , had 160 yds passing and set the defense up with some fantastic punts. Secondary struggled on defense. RBs ran the ball well. Jackson will need to clean up the penalty's to beat wheelersburg next week.

Ice had those nice passes to Davis over the middle. I love that play. Good clean handoffs and nice punts.Football? wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2019 10:58 pm Jackson’s QB Icenhour played lights out! Winters came in for a drive and brought a different dimension and it was very effective as well.
So many kids just played great games tonight. Oline, dline, extra point and kickoff teams.
Evan Spires....wow

Won’t win next week if we can’t pass the ball. Dump passes to the TE are good but won’t be effective against the good discipline teams. Spires and Johnson ran hard tonight and Davis showed some speed and the ability to stretch out for some balls. I agree with you Iromen92 Winters adds another dimension to the offense. We will need it next week.
Loved it when E. Spires jumped that bubble for a pick 6. I believe that is 4 INTs for him this year. Mastin was a beast at LB tonight. He just keeps improving.

Re: Jackson at Western Brown
Offensive line was shuffled a little bit tonight and performed great . Ground and pounded almost 450 yards on the ground. Defense had a couple blown coverages but will be corrected. Backs run hard as any I’ve seen in Last few years . Both quarterbacks performed very well. Need to play a very clean game to compete next week. Jackson had a hard run game but Burg will take that away at some point. Should Be fun. 4-0 though is pretty sweet

Coach Woodward is a smart coach. He will load up the box and force Jackson to the throw knowing they have struggled to throw the ball consistently. Not going to get those easy wide open dump passes to the TE or the quick 5 yd outs.Abe Froman wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2019 12:42 amReally cause last time you beat us you threw it maybe twice.JohnDenver wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2019 12:30 am Won’t win next week if we can’t pass the ball. Don’t disagree. We will need to throw some quick outs to keep 9 guys out of the box . Wheelersburg will load up to stop the run and make Jackson throw to win. If Jackson can stay in front of the chains and have 3rd and manageable that will help . Getting prater back will help. But yes can’t be one dimensional and beat a Wheelersburg. I like the throws from the play action.JohnDenver wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2019 12:54 amCoach Woodward is a smart coach.
