DVI R24 Playoff Talk

Post by Bumpy »

3 SVC teams sit at the top after 6 games, pretty good. Not likely to stay that way after a few more weeks but still fairly impressive. I do believe all 3 will certainly make it to week 11 but looking at the other teams in this region I think Mechanicsburg and Covington are a notch above and would take a bit of an upset for SE/Adena/PV to take them out.

SE/Adena/PV should all make the playoffs. Southeastern has to play the other big 3 in weeks 8,9 and 10. It will be hard for them to win all 3. Adena has SE left and PV has SE and Unioto. Not to say the other 4 teams in the SVC can not pull an upset but it is the Big 4 and the other 4. Mechanicsburg and Covington should be in the hunt along with the winner of this weeks Dayton Christian/Worthington Christian winner should be looking good at the playoffs. Grandview Hts is also in the mix. GV is currently 4-2 and has 2 games that are very winnable for them and 2 that would be considered toss-ups (Columbus Academy and Columbus Ready). 6-4 puts Grandview Hts on the bubble but is getting points from Columbus Centennial (who may go 9-1 on year) and Bucyrus (a replacement team on schedule because Rosecrans moved to 8 man football).
Cincinnati Deer Park is in the top 8 but have a very tuff last 4 games- Cincinnati Wyoming, Cincinnati Mariemont, Cincinnati Madeira (all 3 in playoff picture) and Cincinnati Reading.

As long as Adena gets by Piketon this Friday, they'll be locked in with just ZT, Huntington, and SE left on the schedule. They'll get by ZT & Huntington with ease. Then win or lose against SE, they'll be 8-2 or 9-1.

Been trying to keep good tabs on the fantastic 50 and playoff projections. Most interesting thing after this week is that, mechanicsburg and covington might play in week 11, and I think they're probably the two best teams in the region.

Watch out for Worthington Christian if they make it. WC is dangerous.
