90-0...in a college game
Not sure who all is aware of this result from Saturday in D3 football:
John Carroll 90
Capital 0
Not a typo. And this was Capital's homecoming game. Relevant in some ways with a pair of Gallia Academy grads as well as some from the MVL.
Reactions?

JCU overcompensating for the fact they’re still little brother in the OAC.BeatOfTheSEOhio wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2019 11:33 am Not sure who all is aware of this result from Saturday in D3 football:

I don’t know, they had the ball 19 total minutes. Several long runs spread across 9 guys getting carries. Unless the expectation is to just fall down when you get in the open field or punt on 1st down, I’m not sure what else a team could do in a situation like that.

Every offensive play? I mean, why not just call the game if that is what is going to happen? That does zero for anyone. Even if you are giving up points, there’s learning opportunities to take home.

Capital did win the Stagg Bowl in 1970 (Now DIII championship) under Gene Slaughter who won many SEOAL championships while at Jackson in the 50's. He was from Ironton and is buried there at Woodland cemetery. They've had very few decent football teams since he left in the mid 80's.

Capital has sucked for a very long time. I’m sure a high school could beat them

John Carroll defeated Mount Union in 2017.
The OAC has become a league of the haves (JC and MU) and the have nots —- the other 8 teams.

Re: 90-0...in a college game
Mount has always dominated the OAC in football. Ohio Northern beat them in 2005, which was the next most recent league loss before 2017. ONU has had some success in the past in addition to JC. 2017 also saw JC lose to ONU.

Mount beat JCU 37-14 this year already @ John Carroll.
Capital plays at Mount this week for their homecoming.
Anyone else smell an upset?

My brother is a JCU football alum. But he isn't on here. I'm another OAC alum, myself.

How do you get your team prepared to play against someone who is significantly better than the team who just beat you by 90. Tough time for those players and coaches this week
