Biggest Surprise This Season

Post by oneoak »

What was it? Biggest single game upset, league champion, individual performances, coaching performance etc.

I think Southeastern's undefeated regular season and SVC championship is the biggest surprise, especially since all the early Ross County focus was on Paint Valley and Unioto.

I agree with you. Southeastern was picked to finish 4th in the SVC by local media at the beginning of the season.

Southeastern just running away with the SVC. In contrast Unioto not living up to all the preseason talk.

Oak Hill going 5-5 and finishing 3-2 in the SOC2. First win at Valley since 1995, first win at Minford since 1996, and first win at Portsmouth West since 1956.

I would say Portsmouth's biggest surprise has been the emergenceb of a passing game with a sophomore qb. It has allowed Parker to be used sparingly on offense and play D or rest more than the last few yearsm

I agree with this. After what burg did, I was impressed that oak hill composed themselves and kept playing

I thought they were a good team before and after we played them.

I agree about Oak Hill, I for one didn't think they would win more than 1 or 2 games. I give new Head Coach Paul Carver a lot of the credit. I guess when the name Lane Ruby is mentioned, nobody should be surprised, the all around great athlete that he is. I think that unless you were a fan of Southeastern, very few other people thought they would win the SVC.

I think the job done at ironton this year has been amazing from last year. ironton lost like 4 games last year where they had huge leads. this year they are bombing people, and finishing.

Turnovers throughout the year & it wasn’t because of the opponent, truly opened my eyes.
Not for the reasons most would think right off the top of the ole scratcher either.

BUT, the fact they’d hand it over and still be able to be in the game.

Obviously it’s gotta stop!!!
