Was told today that Northwest freshman Wyatt Brackman squatted 540 at the meet at Piketon Saturday.
I think he was 450 on his deadlift not sure of bench. He won his weight class.

There are dudes playing at tOSU who are squating 500-600, so I doubt a high school freshman is parallel squating 540. JMO though.

This was in the Southern Ohio regional meet. State powerlifting rules. He went for the record of 570 and didn't get it. He is about 5'11 250 and is a absolute beast in the weight room. I do know a few days before the meet in our weight room he went passed parallel with 515. With his work ethic by the time he graduates he will have all the Northwest powerlifting records.

So if the players at Northwest are getting this strong it looks like the move to go to the SOC I has enabled them to build the program to the point of competing in the SOC II has worked. So when will The Mohawks be moving back to the SOC II?

When Justy was here we had several players who could squat over 600lbs each year. Losing him started the decline of the program.

Jesty was a proven winner and SG hasn’t had one in any sport since. They may have one in boys hoops but the ain’t lettin them rebels lift waits cause he says it throws off your shot

I was wrong on one of the weights. He's not 250 he is down to 230.
