Notes from call with Gov
Have some notes from the calls with the Governor last night.
Final order will be out by noon today.
- Working with local health departments and will have compliance people checking in on schools.
- Every participant (player/cheer/band) will be permitted to have family - up to 4 tickets per participant - but also will be dependent on size of venue.
- Indoor sports will have smaller crowds.
- Game day roster is limited to 60 kids.
- Media and college scouts can attend.
- Bands will not travel to away games.

Wonder if they will be letting any of the coaches have tickets to give to family. I know the participants need support more than the coaches, but hopefully they allow a ticket or two for the coaches to give out. Some of these families sacrifice a lot of time with their loved ones so that they can spend the majority of their time doing football stuff and I’m sure would love to be able to watch. But my guess is it will depend on the school.loganlocos wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 10:08 am Have some notes from the calls with the Governor last night.

High School students should be able to attend also. If they can be inside a classroom all day together, then they should be able to attend a game outside. Friday night football games are important and a big part of the high school experience for non athletes also. If they aren't allowed to be at the game together, they will be somewhere else together anyways.

Kinda agree with this. We can go back to school full blown and we can go sit in a packed restaurant and eat for an hour. But can’t sit in a stadium outside, still socially distant unless you are a family member. Nothing makes senselongball wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 11:54 am High School students should be able to attend also. Nice to hear from you locos. I am not advocating for anything just wandering about certain things.... Will school bd members, High school teachers, coaches from future schools allowed to scout, concession stand workers, allowed to attend.. How do you handle the visiting team tickets, are tickets sold on a pre sale basis? Sounds like it could turn into a cluster at some schools... What about grades 9-12, will they play games and go by these guidelines?

Each school will have to find what works best for them.

I would assume coaches can be included in the "participants" category - but it will probably be up to each school.MasterOfNone wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 11:44 am Wonder if they will be letting any of the coaches have tickets to give to family. Re: Notes from call with Gov
This is foolishness. Why would media and scouts be permitted to attend but only 4 family members? Personally, I don't think anyone should be permitted to attend, but if you're letting people in why wouldn't you confine it to those in the communities? Unless of course media and scouts are immune.loganlocos wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 10:08 am Have some notes from the calls with the Governor last night.

For family members of players, cheerleaders and band members? I didn't think tickets are open to the general public.

The whole fan thing is stupid as hell.
You can go to Walmart or Kroger, but can't sit outside to watch a football game.
I am glad for the kids that they get to play, but come on. It is all about Control.
Just like making the kids wear masks on the sideline during the game. I bet they don't have mask on anywhere during practice.
Game night. By God you wear a mask on the sideline! It is all a Show for Control.

This is BS. We've already been cut to 6 games, blah blah blah. Playoffs then play more after.
Let the people in. This is craziness. Make people where a mask outside if you want, but let the people in!

Schools can schedule regular season games until the second week in November. Schools can schedule TEN regular season games and are guaranteed a playoff game.Stan Smith wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 2:41 pmI'm with ya.petesweaty wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 1:58 pm The whole fan thing is stupid as hell.

EVERY school that has football can play at least ELEVEN games if they want to. If they don't, its because the school decided not to schedule more games.
Re: Notes from call with Gov
There are loopholes if the school wants to stretch it. If the venue is big enough they can fit more than 4 per player and still properly distance. I for one would still like to see student sections packed in tight and cheering for their classmates. The restrictions are really bizarre. It almost reminds me of what we have done with religion. They are trying to find something that gives the illusion of safety. It’s like the person at the drive thru that won’t take your card and sticks the machine outside the window and makes you swipe it but if you have cash they’ll take that dirty money right out your hands.

Re: Notes from call with Gov
I’m going to assume this is why we haven’t for sure found out as far as who gets to attend these games ? Has the testing protocol been lifted or revised ??

Re: Notes from call with Gov
They said testing was never meant to be for the high school level. They will not require testing. I can’t remember exactly when they said that but I think Husted may have said that last week but not 100% sure.countywide35 wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 4:36 pm

Re: Notes from call with Gov
I am just fine with these protocols. At least are state is trying not like some states. And my guess is . If we go 3 games and we are having no problems you might see a few more fans.
Bet you the houses will be full of people above memorial field this fall....

Re: Notes from call with Gov
My guess is in certain circumstances there may be plenty of tickets available not plenty but at least a few. At least for other students or more people. I know several kids who won’t have 4 people to go. Especially if they are not allowed to hang out together.
And as far as masks at practices go. I can tell you kids I have seen at practice if they don’t have a helmet on have a mask on. When they have a helmet on I gave no idea. And coaches that are close to kids have masks on. A coach up in a tower or 25 yards in the defensive back field may not g he Abe his up all the time.
