We ain’t got no money in SEO to make a Catholic school to segregate from poor people.... I mean segregate from non believers

No clue how the Catholic Consortium of Perry County still manages to stay solvent while supporting two grade schools. They do a great job of making sure kids go to Sheridan and New Lex, though.

Yes they do. A buddy of mine from work, his dad (Bob Fowle) coached the basketball team @ St. Al's in New Lex to the State title in 54' and later coached track @ Wehrle and won a few State titles there. Chuck Kemper (good athlete in late 60's @ Logan) put Wehrle on the map in basketball with his State titles.

Very cool. And Chuck Kemper later went to Pickerington. And Jerry Francis was on those Wehrle teams!

That could be.

PC used to be pretty fertile ground for us. Used to get 12-15 boys a class from Perry County, including some kids from McCuneville and Shawnee. Think the name of the church in Corning is St Bernard, and it’s a “part-time” parish??

You know the game wasn't very interesting when the thread turns into a discussion of catholic schools in Perry County (I was borned and raised in PC.) Yes it is St. Bernard. Not catholic so no idea about the status. St. Rose (New Lex) and Holy Trinity (Somerset - Sheridan) do still send some kids to Rosecrans (Zanesville) and Fisher Catholic (Lancaster), but many just stay in town and go to New Lex or Sheridan. Over the past decade, some better Rosecrans elementary athletes (Bishop Fenwick - combined St. Nicholas and St. Thomas) have gone to Tri-Valley.
