Exactly what I would expect an OSU fan to say.

That's why outside of Columbus you are viewed in the light you are and I am glad now you have finally been exposed for it :122245 .

I'm glad we're viewed in whatever light you want to think we're viewed in.

People don't like OSU fans, here's a news flash, OSU fans don't like them either!!!

I love it that we are viewed in the "wrastling" role of the heel!
Bad guys are always more fun to cheer for.

And like the best Heel of all time said: "To be the man, you've got to beat the man...Wooooooo!"

I have been all over the U.S. and honestly, we (Ohio State fans) aren't viewed any differently than any other schools fans. OSU is the biggest University in the country and it has the biggest fan base. Yes People hate OSU, but people also hate the SEC, or Big 12, or any other school in the country. Thats what makes College sports so much fun. You have your team and to H*LL with anyone elses. Now wipe that Maze and Blue SH*T off your shirt and pay attention......Get in your MeatChicken mobile and drive to say Kentucky, ask them who has the Greatest Basketball program in the history of college basketball. They will tell you without a dout it is UK. I knows a hundred people who have always and will forever hate UK, Do you know why? I do, It is because there school gets there arses kicked by UK every time they play them. I know you have a rough life being a Meatchicken fan but I guess thats the breaks!!

Back to the Miami story. ESPN reporting that Harris is only going to be suspended the first game and 4 players that accepted benefits from boosters not missing ANY games.

Am I missing something?

I read on ESPN where if you accept under 100 dollars you don't have to miss any games as long as they pay it back,,,, Harris supposedly accepted about 140 although they don't know how much and spence about 275,,what a joke to miss only one game of their choosing!!!!! Ohio State by voluntarily suspending their players a set number of games screwed up IMO should have let the NCAA do it instead might have got a lot better deal ,at least the O-State players gave up something in return for their goods

Lets see...

We vacated all of our wins from last year. All players involved were suspended 5 games. Our coach resigned (they fired him). All over tatoos.

Abortions, hookers, yacht parties for recruits, $50,000 handshakes.......they will sit out a couple games.

Seriously? It looks like OSU is far ahead of the game. They over penalized themselves and some people still call them crooks and cheaters. To heck with those people. Look at these silly little suspensions. OSU should have rolled the dice.

NCAA+Miami= Coverup       The suspensions that were handed down was a joke. I know it was stated that the NCAA was continuing their investigation was ongoing. My question is who investigates the NCAA

My point exactly. The NCAA is not equiped to deal with today's major college football environment. Heck, they haven't been since the 50's. And they are haunted by the spector of SMU. Having crippled a small, private program gone wild in the 80's, they can't imagine destroying a large program such as what Miami has become. It would cut into theircash flow. Money ruins amatuer athletics and there aint no putting the genie back in the bottle.

Thank God they only got Harris for one game!!!

I was nervous that Miami might have an actual QB on their roster to replace him with!

He's good for at least 2 picks, and last year may have been the Buckeyes best offensive player!

I think I know how they got such a light decision on the players who still get to play. There is another Booster who is smarter than the one who is spilling all the beans after he went to prison. Well there might have been several Boosters step up with a lot of hush money. The money probably went to the NCAA and the U Miami. In the way the system is set up now, money talks. There are a lot of crooked people involved in this scam of an investigation. Ohio State paid dearly and Miami gets off with nothing even close to what they rightly deserved to be punished. I wonder if after their so called investigation, will the Hurricanes have all their games erased? I just wish that they do their job.

The NCAA is a outdated and needs to be completely overhauled. The BCS needs to let go of their fighting the thought of a National Championship Playoff System. Again they don't want to let go of being all powerful. It is time to move into the modern World and let what the majority of Coaches, Players, and the fans. Then we wouldn't have some Schools being pissed off because being left out of some BCS games they thought they should have been selected. Then you could crown a true National Champion. They could play the playoff games instead of having to wait 6 weeks or more to play for the Title Game. There would be bugs to work out, but I am sure it would be better than the way it is now. That is my opinion and like the old saying, everyone has one. Thanks for reading my post, and if anyone has their own opinion and ideas to set up a Championship Playoff System. Just food for thought. Have a great day my fellow SEOPS members, Vlad III the Impaler

I love this conversation.

I lived in Raleigh-Durham for three years recently and OSU was viewed in a very different light down there. They were constantly getting the "they choke" in big games or vs SEC teams treatment. I had friends from law school from all over the country who have visited OSU (one particular from Texas) who say they are the worst fans they have ever come across (something I already knew). BUt whatever you say since you have lived everywhere.

I have heard this same argument about archaic rules, and how the NCAA is so behind the times before. You know who I hear this from, USC fans, and SEC school fans, and now Ohio State fans. It is funny once you get caught then it is "everyone else" is behind the times, and this is happening everywhere but we just got caught. The NCAA needs to look at things differently because this is happening and just get on board. Translation---we are scuzzy and break the rules but we win and everyone should get on board with the way WE choose to do things because it works for us. Despite the fact many of these kids are essentially getting 60+ thousand over four years (room and board, tuition, books, meals, rent paid, etc), we should give them more. News flash, your company is probably making millions and you are part of it, you don't get paid more then you are worth just because someone else is making money.

News flash---Miami is a small private school too. Not anything like OSU in terms of size. and why are you complaining about Miami? The NCAA hasn't even ruled on the case or began their investigation. It takes time. But it must be another NCAA v BTN conspiracy.

Peake should be happy that the Buckeye investigation basically stopped and the NCAA is ruling based on what we've had uncovered.

If the rocks would have continued to be uncovered, Michigan would have been our bed partners in forfeiting seasons, and having star players and fast QBs on the ineligible list.

If you head north west from CBus, you end up in an area of Ohio that is split 50/50 on the rivalry. There is at least one memorabilia dealer in NW Ohio that has given cash or other improper benefits to high profile players from both schools in exchange for autographs and game used items.

It's ok though, the only thing they ever do wrong in AA, is "stretch too much"! Ha!

Well they sure werent know for the "choke" coming at the end of November, were they Peake? ;-)

Does anyone remember a scandal at Michigan called the Fab 5? Does a 6 year investigation, over half a million dollars to players, illegal gambling operations and a federal grand jury ring a bell?

Of course Michigan has been squeaky clean since then, right? Wrong!

OSU fans are surely looked at differently in different areas of the country? That is a big surprise!

And, in place of dazed&confused, I will gladly say that today is August 31, 2011. It has now officially been 2839 days since Michigan last beat Ohio State in football.

Go Bucks.

The sad thing to the whole situation is that im sure that this same sort of thing happens at every big time university across the nation. It's just a matter of time before more and more schools feel the same crash and burn effect as USC, Ohio State and Miami are dealing with. All it takes obviously is for the wrong person to get pissed off or open their mouth and the NCAA comes rushing in to do their damage as rightfully they should. I don't agree with any of this wrong doing and as a die hard buckeye fan it was very disappointing to lose a great coach and take the bad guy label over dumb immature things that could have and should have been avoided. Before anyone bashes another school I would suggest being quiet and making sure yours isn't next. I slammed cam newton and auburn just to months later see the buckeyes get hammered over a mess. I had friends bash Ohio state who were Miami fans and they now are now crying the blues.

I for one believe what the buckeyes did was wrong by far but when compared to Miami or the cam newton deal I think I takes a back burner in severity. I know peake some others see it as scuzzy vs scuzzier as he said which I agree with to a certain extent. A sin is a sin and a crime is a crime. But in society is a person who steals or committs a traffic violation going to be dealt with the same as a murdered in sentencing and consequences? Of course not. So IMO I believe that the punishment should meet the crime. See as you wanna see it but that's today's justice system.

On a positive note, im so glad it's opening weekend and get back to playing game and put all this BS behind us. Go Buckeyes

Sure we took egg on our face 10+ years ago.

Michigan needed to be accountable and they were. They didn't go around blaming everyone else for their wrong doings like all of you who feel the need to drag other people into this to make yourselves feel better about your scuzzy program.

Marlin Jackson threw a beer bottle at a person after he called him the N word several times, so I guess yes that makes him an awful person.

And yes Coach Mo was arrested for DUI over 15 years ago and forced to resign, how that equals what OSU is going through I have no idea.

DUbs,
Yes Denard donated a signed game jersey to an auction for a current team members memorial golf outing in which both parents died. Denard got nothing from the auction, and Michigan had to report it as a secondary rules violation, in which the NCAA responded with it wasn't a violation. So no your ignorant OSU source who just like the rest of the fans on here tried dragging someone else into your mess was wrong.

Your program is scuzz and I am glad it was finally exposed, too bad it didn't happen on the release date of Tressel's book about morals.
