Crooksville to play all games AWAY this season
https://www.zanesvilletimesrecorder.com ... 517385001/
Crooksville does not have a JV or Freshmen team this year so no worries about where to have those games.
Crooksville also has 1 combined 7th/8th grade team.

Apparently a lighting and power problem at Crooksville field.

I don't know if it is possible but it might good to play one of the games at OU Peden Stadium as Crooksville being the home team. I feel bad for the team. I hope some accommodations can be made for them.

As someone posted on another site "Why not play Sat afternoon at home"?
Re: Crooksville to play all games AWAY this season
I thought of the option to play on Saturday afternoon too, but the WHIZ article states that there is no electric for the scoreboard, concession stand and press box.

On another site the posters were suggesting they just grab a few generators and play on Saturday afternoon.
I wondered if one of the neighboring districts might let them borrow a stadium a few times.

I would think new lex would let them use on Saturday nightsteach1coach2 wrote: Sun Aug 08, 2021 4:14 pm On another site the posters were suggesting they just grab a few generators and play on Saturday afternoon.

Re: Crooksville to play all games AWAY this season
If New Lex and Maysville would let them (both fields about 10 miles from Crooksville), it's really easy -- and keeps games on Friday night:
8/20 -- vs. Waterford (at Maysville)
8/27 -- vs. Vinton County (at New Lex)
9/10 -- vs. Meadowbrook (at Maysville)
10/1 -- vs. Coshocton (at New Lex)
The other two home games are Maysville and New Lex, so you just flop them around this year for next on the schedule...

Exactly. Games don't have to be played at night. So if it's just a scoreboard issue, some generators should do the trick. I would rather play a home schedule under imperfect conditions as opposed to playing on the road all year.*teach1coach2 wrote: Sun Aug 08, 2021 4:14 pm On another site the posters were suggesting they just grab a few generators and play on Saturday afternoon.

Re: Crooksville to play all games AWAY this season
Surely they’ll find a way to play some home games. That would be horrible to load up on a bus and travel every Friday. If your Crooksville administration you find a way to have some home games, especially for the seniors

Seems odd they can’t borrow big generators on trailers from colleges and municipalities in the area
Re: Crooksville to play all games AWAY this season
Hopefully some accommodation can be worked out but it sounds like adults in charge are engaged in a tug of war rather than working towards a solution.Raider6309 wrote: Tue Aug 10, 2021 4:31 pm Seems odd they can’t borrow big generators on trailers from colleges and municipalities in the area

Sounds like it’s already a done deal. They’ve already informed the Vinton county admin that they will be traveling to Vc for sure. That’s unbelievable.

Re: Crooksville to play all games AWAY this season
Prediction:
So here is how this thing plays out:
1. Crooksville is playing all away games this season at the other school's fields. Not likely to change.
2. Crooksville puts lights and bleachers at the football field by the school that has the track and used for JH games. It will become the new Crooksville home field starting in 2022. UNLESS,
3. Village decides to sell or lease the football stadium to the school so the school can fund the lights etc. If village botches this, Village Park becomes a biddy league football only stadium. (Maybe it could also be used for club soccer.) Note: Crooksville and Meadowbrook are the only MVL schools not to have soccer.

Week 1 at Waterford is now an 8 pm kickoff time. The Waterford Community Fair is that weekend, and the fair parade begins at 6.

So Homecoming for the Ceramics is a Awaycoming? Sad for the homecoming court.
As someone who has been to Crooksville for many a game this is utterly disgusting and the school board should be canned for failure to serve.

I would consider the village council and officers the ones who should be canned for failure to serve.
I'm not sure it is legal for a school system to spend massive amounts of money on at a property they do not own and definitely do not have control over.

Usually the municipality owns the land and the school owns the stadium. Sounds like a pissing matchteach1coach2 wrote: Wed Aug 11, 2021 6:51 pm I would consider the village council and officers the ones who should be canned for failure to serve.
