Portsmouth West 2022
Very promising outlook heading into the season. Lots of talent that has earned the time as youngsters are finally going in as seasoned veterans. Also some exciting young athletes to bring in as well. Expectations are high so hopefully no let downs. Get to play on a beautiful new field and some new uniforms. I know we have added some young alumni on the staff that has played at the next level and some great conditioning minds. If we can embellish some "Sider Swagger" of old and be a little more creative on the offensive side of the ball, an SOC championship and regional title is not unreasonable goals. Haven't held up a gold ball since 2008, long overdue.

The new turf looks awesome. The view of the facility from Raven Rock is amazing. I kinda wish the Trojans played at West this year lol. I think West will be pretty tough. I liked what I seen from them last year, and I know they return several key pieces.

Senior Running Back Ryan Sissel
I know he's been to his fair share of colleges over the past year and doesn't get nearly the attention others do around here. Absolute work horse on both sides of the ball, hopefully he can stay healthy and lead the other guys into a successful season.

I remember watching him some last year. Strong player. Does he play on the defensive side?SiderBlood wrote: Wed Jul 20, 2022 2:24 pm Senior Running Back Ryan Sissel

I agree. I watched Jackson scrimmage them
Down there 2/3yrs ago and the picture that was posted here on this Page of the thread. Looks like a 180 change to what was there to play on a few years ago. Does look very nice.
I’m still super jealous of your Logan Chieftan Center. Wish we had one ha

Re: Portsmouth West 2022
I remember watching this young group of WestSidrZ that year. Once pre-season against Jackson. One other time against Wellston at Wellston. Boy they were big upFront. Super young but of course these kids now should older experienced and ready to roll. I understand why the expectations are high at West this year.
Maybe some of you that know more about this group can elaborate a little more on from the time frame I mentioned of behind to watch this group play to current time. What’s been added subtracted to the group etc.
Good Luck to you guys

Re: Portsmouth West 2022
I believe Winters from Jackson and Sissel from West are the 2 best football players in Southern Ohio.
Re: Portsmouth West 2022
I would agree with this. If I was starting a team from the area these are my first two picks. Hard nosed and tough. Play both sides of the ball equally. Sissel probably makes more of an impact on the game for West offensively, but will play defense in collegeSWHITE2002 wrote: Thu Jul 21, 2022 6:44 am I believe Winters from Jackson and Sissel from West are the 2 best football players in Southern Ohio.

Re: Portsmouth West 2022
West didn’t look to have many kids out this year in the team photo I seen. Maybe like 38-39? Depth could end up an issue for them.
