Burg coaches made some boneheaded calls in the 4th. Onside kick was not a good call. Also, going from power running down the field to spread when inside the 20 was bad as well.

Game should not have been this close given how easy Burg was running the ball in the second half.

I thought burg had the best coaching? I have read that a lot.

Compared to Ironton? Yes. Ironton coaching are the kings of doing less with more.

Why don’t you keep your azz on the Ironton threads and wait for your azz whopping coming in the playoffs!!

Like he said the play calling was sad. Stop trying the onside kick because every team on your schedule knows it’s coming.

I’m still not sold on who is calling the plays. I say give it to Bryson Williams and see what happens.

We just get too cute at times. If something is working, just stick with it. As for onside kicks, I like that our coaches use this so often, but up 21-7 in the 4th tonight… no reason for it.

Btw, the freshman QB is going to be fun to watch the next three years. Nice arm and vision. Especially liked how he handled himself. Did not get rattled at all.

Raceland blew Russell out right? Do they have better coaching or do they "recruit" also?

Congrars!!! A win is a win. Id rather have tough games than play a cupcake schedule. It has been proven, a tough 10 game schedule is more beneficial than playing a schedule.with 6 of which are running clocks.

That’s why Coldwater and the other MAC schools are so tough. Winning their conference is actually harder than winning the state title.

I was curious how consistent the narrative was. It's looking a little fuzzy. One day it's the best and another day, it's being a little second guessed. Maybe "burg has the best coaching" is a situational sentiment?

When Ironton stops choking in the playoffs and actually wins something, then get back to us.

Btw, how many years since their last state title? Were you even alive then?

You lose your competitve edge when you arent battling week in and out. Wait and see, in the coming weeks we will be reading how teams have righted the ship but the reality will be they arent playing anyone, near their so-called talent level

Did the Red Devils have a bunch of recruits too? Had to be some reason why that great coaching staff struggled against a team Raceland blew out right?

I agree with this. That said, if certain teams go into week 5, 4 - 0 ,against 4 good teams, but didn't play very good or have the great coaching burg allegedly has, they could be a very hard out for the 1st team they beat and didn't even allow in the end zone should they so happen to meet again.

Next few weeks just got questionable for burg.

You’re back. Did Ironton finally win something? Anything? A state band contest? The tic tax toe state championship? Something?

I bet you’ve never seen Ironton lift a state title trophy. Having seen Burg win seven is quite exciting. Next time you are in the Burg, stop by the high school. They might let you look at them.

I think Ironton leads the series vs Burg. I'll have to check.

How many tds did they score on Ironton again?

I watched Ironton do it. But it was in a higher div and against bigger tougher opponents than you are accustomed to in scioto co.

At any rate. Maybe burgs elite coaching could pow wow with Raceland and brainstorm for next week?

So in other words, no, you have never seen Ironton win a state title in any sport, yet here you are.

Wait, makes sense that you are on Burg’s topics. Just wanting to feel like a real winner. I get it now.

Seriously, come by the school, and we’ll take a pic with you standing next to our last state trophy.

So now that Ironton has not won against weaker competition for over 30 years, has their program fallen apart? Is it simply beyond repair? Sounds like that’s what you are saying…
