The Ohio State Buckeyes will wrap up their non conference slate when they host the Toledo Rockets this Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 pm kick with the broadcast on Fox
The Rockets of the MAC are 2-0, having defeated Long Island 37-0 and UMass 55-10. There claim to fame is pass defense, allowing only a total of 116 yards through the air in their two games.
Ohio State looks to fine tune their game while getting backups some playing time before conference play starts the following weekend when Wisconsin comes to Columbus.
State should roll 49-21.

Buckeyes continue to roll... Toledo will hang for a quarter or so then Buckeyes step on the gas .

They should be able to name the score. Hopefully they’ll come out and do just that.

Interesting stats regarding OSU's defense under new coordinator Jim Knowles
Year. Rank. Total Defense YPG
2022 23rd 264.5
2021 59th 372.9
A 30% improvement.
I know it is based on only two games, but the Buckeye defense seems headed in a good direction in 2022.
Also it has been reported that receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Julian Fleming have been cleared to play against Toledo.

I agree. Our defense has showed some major improvements through the first two games compared to the first 2021 games.
Good to hear some of the star studded WR rooms will be suited up for the contest…..
7:00pm kickoff again ?? Geez that’s more prime time games at night on Columbus that I can recall for some time.
I like it!!

Well OSU WR's Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Julian Fleming playing status have now been listed as "game time" decisions.

The Buckeyes found their stride and cruised to a 77-21 victory over Toledo.
State rolled up 763 of total offense on the night, with 482 through the air and 281 on the ground.
CJ Stroud completed 22 of 27 passes for 367 yards with 5 touchdowns against no interceptions .
Eight different Buckeyes snared passes with Emeka Egbuka leading the way with 7 receptions for 116 yards. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Julian Fleming each corralled 2 touchdown throws while Cade Stover and Jayden Ballard also made big plays in the passing game. Jaxon Smith-Njigba played sparingly.
On the ground the Buckeyes were led by third team freshman running back Dallan Hayden who rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries. Star RB TreVeyon Henderson left the game early after being banged up.
The Buckeye defense held Toledo to 307 yards, with 253 of those coming from efforts of Rocket quarterback DeQuan Finn. The dual threat QB made several big plays after miraculous escapes from the clutches of the Buckeye defense. The kid is good.
One more positive of note, the Buckeyes were only called for one penalty. A big improvement over their first two games. The only negative from the game is mounting minor injuries that may keep the Buckeyes from being at full strength as the open conference play next week at home against Wisconsin.
