Another week in the books... let's look at things that stood out.
1. The B1G East is the only hope for a College Football Playoff Spot. The B1G WEST... is a Coin Flip.
The East remains strong with Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. While the West is one BIG FAT MESS... its hard to tell who is the frontrunner for the West. You just don't know what team is going to show up.
2. The ACC is Clemson's to lose... the Rest are battling for the 2nd spot.
While the ACC is an Alright Conference... Clemson is the ACC's only true hope of making the Playoffs.
3. The BIG XII.. TCU and Oklahoma State looks to be the strongest teams in the conference.
After TCU getting by a WAY better than expected Kansas team and watching a Mud Hole getting stomped into Oklahoma at the will of Texas. Kansas State eeking by Iowa State.. looks like TCU and Oklahoma State rule the roost for now..
4. The SEC WEST looks to be All Alabama... However the East... Georgia better watch out for Tennessee.
Alabama IMO still doesn't look like the #1 team in the country after beating a Mediocre Texas A&M team... Tennessee Destroyed LSU.. Mississippi State throttled Arkansas... and Kentucky going back to its old ways in losing to a team that they shouldn't have in South Carolina. The East is ALL Georgia and Tennessee.
5. PAC12... USC and UCLA will determine the PAC12 South. However the But the North is Oregon's to lose.
Because Washington seems to have fallen flat. And Utah falling to UCLA. The PAC12 Is starting to show the front Runners pretty well.
Thoughts? Let me know!

Re: Valenth's Thoughts from Week 6...
Good post Valenth!!
1. B1G east is OSU, Bichigan and Penn State. I think the Natty Lions can go to the Big House and win...imho.
The west is...Illinois
2. ACC...Clemson. My Noles started good but they are not "ready for prime time".
3. SEC...the east is Georgia and Tennesse. The Vols have a HUGE game this week as the Death Star of Saban visits Knoxville. If Young remains out...I give the Vols a chance.
4. PAC 12...I thought Utah had a chance...that is until UCLA ended that. It is Oregon and USC who will probably duke it out
Bottom line...when the smoke clears, my final 4 will be
Bama
OSU
Georgia
USC...not in any order of course
Texas could win BIG 12...why? Two words..Quinn Ewers.
The kid has a slingshot for an arm with pretty good mobility. If he stays healthy, I'll give them a shot.
BTW... Alabama will be fine if Young can return to QB1 sooner rather than later. I know...Capt. Obvious.

A&M lost because Jimbo didn't use the entire endzone on that 4th down play. Using military jargon...it was a Delta Alpha call to use only a small portion of said endzone...just mho.OHHS old timer wrote: Sun Oct 09, 2022 10:05 am Good post Valenth!!

That was a terrible play call IMO. And the throw wasn't even into the end zone.OHHS old timer wrote: Sun Oct 09, 2022 10:10 amA&M lost because Jimbo didn't use the entire endzone on that 4th down play. Other thoughts:
Tennessee WILL beat Bama next weekend. You heard it here first! I don't care if Bryce Young plays or not.....Tennessee by 6 if Young plays and Tennessee by 13 if he doesn't. The Vols have a stingy defense and explosive offense. I think behind tOSU and Georgia, they are the most complete team. And Georgia has had some glaring weaknesses the past couple of weeks.
Big 12 runs through TCU although they don't play defense (shocker). I don't see them going unbeaten and B12 ultimately eliminated from the playoffs.
PAC12 chances come down to UCLA and USC.
If played tomorrow, OSU would boat race ttun if playing healthy and nobody sitting out.
ACC is putrid outside of Clemson. Sneak peak- I'll have Syracuse upsetting Clemson later this season.

Re: Valenth's Thoughts from Week 6...
Just back from helping coach a 10 U travel baseball team near Myrtle Beach . Note to self, do not do that again.
Every one's comments above provide a good summary of the weekend in college football. The only thoughts I could add are:
I am shocked at the resurgence of Tennessee. I thought the Vols were a year away.
I am shocked at the collapse of Oklahoma. The transfer portal giveth, the transfer portal taketh.
Clemson has the clearest (easiest?) path to the playoffs at the halfway point to the season.
Quinn Ewers may be best pure passer to ever grace a football field. Now if Sarkasian can teach him to be a field general, Texas might have something .

This might sound Crazy. But I'd like to KNOW the Reasoning why Clemson leap frogged Michigan...Omega wrote: Sun Oct 09, 2022 4:22 pm This weeks AP top 25. Of note the Buckeyes passed Bama for 2nd and Clemson passed Michigan for 4th.

Re: Valenth's Thoughts from Week 6...
I think Clemson's wins over #14 Wake and #15 NC State are viewed more favorably than Michigan's best win over Iowa. Michigan will have the chance to prove the pollsters wrong when they face Penn St next Saturday.Valenth wrote: Sun Oct 09, 2022 7:43 pmThis might sound Crazy.
