What I’ll say is that where you live is a place that I think only a foolish parent would disapprove of their future adult children living. Doesn’t really matter if it’s on the MD or VA side. Really solid place all around, tremendous place to raise a family. Incredible quality of public education, be it in MoCo or Howard County in MD, or NoVA.

Loudon county Va to be exact. Some of the best public and private schools in the entire nation. One of the coolest things is when ya kids are "walk them to the bus stop age" and you see the tradition of professional parents walking down to the bus stop before work and THEN you observe all the kids talking and how on ANY given day there maybe be 3 or 4 languages being spoken on the bus stop. Most people are bilingual or more here. Including the children. Its also nice to observe how active and healthy and physically fit we all are here. Very good place to raise kids. I have two. My son is now 22 and a lineman for.power company and my daughter is finishing undergrad at WVU and headed to med school. I would NEVER bring children to southern ohio to raise. Ironton is my place of birth and i have many fond childhood memories, but no thanks. There is just no value.

And dont get me started on the people in seo. Very negative and they hate one another. Anytime i contact anyone back in seo it is a GUARANTEE they will start gossiping and disparaging one of their neighbors. Lol..its money every single time. Ya'll HATE each other. Lol. Everybody here is busy being productive. Not alotta effort put into pulling each other down. And then also, people in seo are very unhealthy. Obesity. Addiction. Etc. Just poor life habits. Not what you would call an area with much opportunity. Its more an area you are fortunate if you escape and do not slip through the cracks. Also seo is BROKE. They dont really have much ambition and that results in not much resource.
And then, the people in seo are just not very intelligent or aware of the world around them so they bring a very limited and often ignorant world view with em to the function.

My location in Loudon County Va ( nova) is why I often laugh when I see Wheelersburg fans on this site brag about their "culture" & academics.

I’ve spent time in that area, so you can’t BS me. I know why that area has grown. I know where the money comes from. It is fueled by the debt ridden federal government.

As for the average income, many in my class from Burg make substantially more than the median in Loudoun County; a number of whom still live in Burg. We could afford to live there, we just choose not to. I personally don’t like that area. Numerous places in the USA that are better options.

Bellies over belts are more comfy in seo. Please stay there. stick to the county fair demo chief. That way you have plenty of punching down targets .

Btw = Federal Gov employee here. I have made a good life and no taxpayers in seo did any work for me but seo stays begging for grants and resources like the broke lil panhandlers they are.

As for you being a government employee, you are a leach that takes from guys like me who pay a crazy amount of federal tax each year; you’re welcome. You work for an organization that is $35T in debt (and counting), but cannot seem to get its spending under control. If the federal government was held to the same financial standards that companies are held to, it would have went out of business a long time ago!

I can assure you my class of 60 at Catholic high school in one of Ohio’s most conservative towns has a higher raw number of ‘woke’ graduates than what the public high school 15 minutes to the east churned out, despite the latter having 3x as many students. Just like it was the classes above me and below me.

I am familiar with northern Virginia and know very well why that area has grown: government bureaucrats sponging off the tax payers. If we stop sending our money to DC, northern Virginia would turn into a ghost town overnight.

Most people don’t realize how many useless bureaucrats live in this area. They are writing endless “laws” and regulations on everything, from what we eat, drink, drive, watch, etc. There is someone always creating a new policy. Hence, companies locate lots of lawyers and their support staffs in this area to have some say in what gets written behind closed doors. Small companies who cannot afford an army of lawyers go through legal firms that specialize in laws and regulations pertaining to a specific industry.

In a prior job, I had to work with out internal lawyers on regulations that were being proposed; give thoughts and opinion on how this would positively/negatively impact our business. In turn, they would work with the bureaucrats and/or congressmen to recommend changes to said policies.

Absolutely crazy what these DC idiots come up with. And the fact we pay them to do this to us makes it even worse!

No politicians in my northern va community. Most of my neighbors are immigrants and a lot work in the tech industry. Very good neighbors matter of fact. We dont have the meth and fentanyl abuse in my community that is an everyday occurence in wheelersburg and most of seo. Most of my neighbors are not obese either. On week 1 when ironton and burg play, look at the adults in the bleachers on both sides my guy. Sad sight to behold. Another trip to the concession stand for crap food but very few gym membership holders. Thats the truth of the matter. Seo folks shouldnt get mad at facts. It should motivate change. But then again, we are better at that also in Nova.

Yes, because only SEO has an obesity issue. 42% of America is considered obese. SEO cannot account for approximately 150MM people. My wife works at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She deals with morbidly obese city folk everyday. But as I stated, that’s just the USA.

As for Northern Virginia, government jobs and spending are what have driven the growth of the area. That’s simply the facts!

Cincinnati public schools (CPS) are worse than nearly every school in Scioto and Lawrence county (actually may be worse than all of them).

And to go one step further, CPS system spends over $15k per student. That’s $5k more than what Wheelersburg spends. That’s even $3k more per student than what Mason spends; Mason is a wealthier suburb with an excellent school system.
