I would agree. SW is in good shape.

South Webster was in good hands 2 seasons ago, was in even better hands last season with a healthier Coach Persin and will be fine this coming season with Coach Persin/Coach Fenton in my opinion freed up even more "to coach" the returning SW squad ...

Waverly is now filled - Coach Teryn Jarrett (Meadowbrook HS) ... good hire by the powers that be ... Coach Jarrett has had to go up against the likes of Maysville, Tri Valley, John Glenn, Sheridan, New Lexington, Coshocton etc in MVL league play - he's seen what "good" is, KNOWS what it takes to get good talent over the top to make them post season contenders ... the Tigers have many of the boxes checked off - size, PG talent, athletes etc. that are needed for post season success ... it will fun to watch Coach Jarrett push these talented players to develop into next level players ...

... the biggies left - Ironton, Sheridan, Fairfield Union all with meat on the bones - talent returning ...

Fairland Coach Speed Retires After 15 Seasons

PROCTORVILLE, OH - Fairland Boys Basketball Coach Nathan Speed is retiring. After 15 incredible seasons at the helm of the Dragons, he will leave a lasting legacy on the program.

Nathan led the Dragons to 10 OVC Championships, 12 Sectional Championships, 5 District Championships, and 1 Region Championship.

He is the winningest coach in Dragon history with a career record of 340-111. He posted 20 win seasons 6 times.

Most BOE meetings are taking place this week & next week when in April they hire for supplementals for the NEXT school year ... we will hear who has been hired to fill many of the "open" head coaching positions as teams are beginning open gyms, "individual" workouts in the off season, preparing for the "Summer Season" - June Basketball (shootouts/camps/etc.) ... most , if not all head coaching positions will be filled ... Coach Jarrett hired at Waverly met with players already at the end of last week & if I'm not mistaken he is meeting with parents/community this evening at the Downtown Arena ...

Waiting to hear hires for Ironton, Sheridan, Fairland ... Fairfield Union has selected their new HC , will be hiring officially at their next BOE meeting ...

... saw this hire on FB ... Coach Day comes over from the girls side at Adena ... had a really good record 106-32 with the Adena girls program, 2 SVC 'ships ... named D4 District Coach of the Year twice ... has a couple of stints on the boys side as an assistant coach ... looks like a good internal hire for AHS ...

He stepped away. His son is going to be in 7th grade at Waverly and I think his boy wanted him to coach him for once.

Unless they did in fact fill it internally, going to be a hard job to fill.... they don't have anything coming.
