Did anyone happen to catch the Great Performances concert on PBS?
It was South Pacific, but not the whole play - just the music with short bits of dialog just to set the scene for the songs.
Reba McEntire sang the Nellie Forbush role, and her country flavor was just perfect for "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair" and the whole role really.
I'm not a big country music fan, but I like Reba and Trisha Yearwood.
Trisha Yearwood's "The Song Remembers When" ranks near the top of my list.
