Well spend a lot of time in Newark area and you may be onto something lol...expect some other movement by a team that played on your field twice in 2015 also.Raider6309 wrote:Licking County League?

If Jackson is the lone wolf I see the tvc opening its doors for Jackson and putting this to rest

I just don't see it happening.Poo Bear wrote:If Jackson is the lone wolf I see the tvc opening its doors for Jackson and putting this to rest
I sure hope the Ironmen find a league, but it won't be in the TVC.
NY already plays Logan D2, and Athens and VC D3. They are only a few kids from being D6.
I think Jackson will thrive as an independent. I know scheduling is a pain in the arse without league games, but I think Jackson's AD will be up to the task. The Ironmen aren't afraid to play anyone in any sport so they will be able to fill their schedules.
All childless and whatnot aside, I think it sucks that the SEOAL is in this shape and on its way out. Their has been some great teams, great games, and wonderful long long standing rivalries.
I would love to see NY play Jackson in multiple sports, a home and home every 4 to 6 years in football would be great. I don't however, believe it would benefit Jackson or Nelsonville-York to play every single year in football.
This may be an unpopular view among Jackson folks and some other SEOAL fans, but it is what it is I guess.

Athens D3
Vinton County D3
Meigs D4
Alexander D5
River Valley D5
Wellston D5
Nelsonville-York D5
All the Hocking teams are D7 now I believe.
I can't remember if Belpre or Fed Hock are still D6 or not.

Could the PVC actually be considering adding 3 Div. III teams to a league made up of 3 Div. VII's and 2 Div. VI's or is this just Seops musing?
If you are Shenandoah or Frontier why would you vote for this?

Cambridge, Morgan, Marietta, Warren ,Meadowbrook and possibly Coshocton. This would make a big and little part to the PVCfortdawg wrote:Could the PVC actually be considering adding 3 Div. III teams to a league made up of 3 Div. VII's and 2 Div. VI's or is this just Seops musing?

In an idea world the TVC adds Jackson and Warren and goes to 3 divisions. I wouldn't be completely opposed to this.Poo Bear wrote:Yeah Jackson doesn't really fit in very well

That whole 4 division thing everyone was throwing around was just crazy lol
I love Jackson! I love their tradition, I love their fans, they have a great facility.
My argument has been that Jackson just doesn't fit. NY voted yes, but they did so because they wanted 3 divisions so they didn't have to play Athens for league titles (they would still schedule them as non league though).
The one thing I do know, is that Jackson will be as strong as ever in Football and they will still be competitive in their other sports as well.

Thanks OB for the kind words
I know Ironmen Nation has a huge respect for the Buckeyes also
So much tradition and so consistent
Plus they have achieved the ultimate pinnacle of success , a state championship

Thanks Raider, that makes a lot more sense. I could see Warren and Morgan jumping at that set up.

So with all this talk, where would Logan possibly go? The licking County league? I thought they was voted down last year around this time?

It looks like the MVL will have an opening if Morgan leaves.

I just don't see Logan going to the Licking County League, maybe Zanesville, but not Logan. Warren and Marietta to the PVC is possible, but it depends on whether the PVC wants to expand. Supposedly they have 3 yes votes on expansion, but is that enough yes votes?

In Virginia, conferences are set up differently than Ohio. Conferences are called "Districts", and every school is placed into the district that it is geographically located in with schools of the same size. You don't have smaller schools competing with larger schools in the same district. They are all roughly the same size. Most districts have 10 teams in them. So in football, you would play the other 9 schools in your district and then one school from outside the district, which would be the first game of the season in most cases. So every school in your district that you play during the regular season is competing for the same playoff spot you are competing for.
