They're on a steady decline in students
Promise they'll be d5 eventually

But yes gallia would be a good fit for tvc also
Would compete right away

Most of the state is on a big decline. D3 in 2013 was a 283 cut off. 2015 D3 cut off was 257

Yes it is for sure
Gallia would have natural rivals with Meigs and River valley
And woukd compete with about everyone else
Be a super fit
Hated to see them move down 93

Gallia had 220 boys and 181 girls at last enrollment count. Poo Bear is correct. They are on a steady decline in numbers and will probably be very close to a division 5 school in the near future. The TVC would have probably been a slightly better fit for them because of close rivals like Meigs and River Valley. However, they will be just fine in the OVC with old rivals Ironton and Portsmouth. Fairland is starting to turn into a little rivalry for them as well.

We need another school around Meigs D4 size.
Translation for those who didn't get that:

We need another school that will not threaten our current reign as the biggest school and take away all of our League Champion trophies.

Or take away that (what did you call it again?) Best Program in SEO. Wowzer.

Yeah, I think Gallia is a better fit in the OVC than the TVC, not that they would be a bad fit in the TVC and Gallia's schedule still allows for them to play Meigs, River Valley, and 1 other opponent, maybe Marietta or Warren, non-conference so having 5 rivalry games in a 10 game regular season will hopefully bring people out to the games whether it's home or away or whether it's Gallia or their opponent.

US census estimate projects positive population growth between 2010 and 2014, so you're wrong.

Second, some schools are consolidating, some are not fielding football programs, some districts are growing etc. There are just a wide variety of factors that make the cutoffs shift.

There's certain topics that won't end. People are fascinated with the tvc expansion , the Seoal demise , all things Logan and Athens. It's kind is annoying but also kinda fun . Alota different angles and perspectives. I just wish we could unite our area teams under one banner. But I got a feeling OB this will never die lol

Same, the leagues in Ohio have turned to close rivals. Teams like Athens, Jackson, and Logan can't win a football state title. So no point driving all over the state. Region 9 is all luck to not get paired with the city teams

Region 9 "country teams" have done alright in the last couple years. Athens with some convincing wins on their march to the State Championship against DeSales, MF, SVSM etc., and Jackson with wins over city teams Bexley and Watterson this year.

The downfall this year for Jackson was just the shear size and depth of Zanesville (a former D2 school the year before).

Athens should have won it all in 2014, take one play away or add a penalty at end of that game and you would have done it.

If someone out of Region 9 is going to break through and win it then we need to be playing the best competition there is in our area and beyond. Logan-Jackson-Athens have to play every year. Logan-Jackson-Athens have to improve their out of conference schedule every year. If they do that it will improve their chances in the future. Even if there is no league that we share with one another it is absolutely silly not to play one another every year.

^You do realize there's a massive difference from region 9 to region 7. Hoban was state champ and played a team that beat Zanesville week 11. Zanesville gave them a game for a half but Hoban, Benny, SVSM, and TCC were the class of D3

Raider, I realize there is a difference. But I also realize that last year you competed with Region 7.

Will Region 9 compete with 7 every year? Heck no. Is it possible to compete with Region 7? Heck yeah.

Speaking of Zanesville, I hear Crosby may be on OU's radar is there any truth to this?

Hopefully OU recruits him because he's also a great defensive player
