Re: Jackson Ironmen Football 2016
Y'all got something in the water up there or just bored because it is March or what?
One guy predicts 10-0, and somebody slams him for not respecting the competition or coaches or something, whatever. I think more like 9-1 for what it is worth but guess who I am rooting for in Week 5.
But clearly this program is on the right track. Program = kids+coaching+consistency. Seems to be on target from what I see and hear.
Then someone else stirring the pot with a transfer. Going to transfer off of a team that went to Week 13 last year and returns 85% + of the starters from what it sounds like?
Really? Seriously?
It is March man, chill, go watch some track or baseball. Everything is going to be ok.

I heard one of the rocket moms saying that kid was coming to.......SEOALlives wrote:WellstonIronman have some insight on this. I sent you a pm.WellstonIronman wrote:Where did you hear he transferring to?Roadhog wrote:Heard Raymond Potter was transferring out of Jackson....
But her mouth was crammed full of cheesecake that I couldn't tell whether she said wellston or westfall
The BEST thing about people from Wellston is that they have JACKSON on their license plates!

He's gone. Has a better chance at a D1 possibility where he's going. From a very reliable source he has not told me where he is going though. Well update if notified. Either way good luck to the young man. And as always les go IRONMEN!
Re: Jackson Ironmen Football 2016
Can we please remember this thread Is about the 2016 Jackson ironmen .
Let's not make this a gossip contest about who's leaving and who's not playing.
Transfers are a part of sport now days . Effect all schools . Some kids decide not to play . It's their right whether they play or they don't play . But many many young ironmen are working hard at getting better . That's who we need to focus on .
Good luck in 2016 Jackson Ironmen
Will be another special season !

IF this is all true, it's very unfortunate for Jackson. Really enjoyed watching Potter play. Good luck to him if this is truly what he wants.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side, but I hope things turn out well.

I don't think he will receive any better exposure in Cincinnati, a lot of talent to look at in a big city...

Kings went 11-2 last season. Losses to Cincinnati Turpin (who they then blasted in the playoffs) and D2 state champ Cincinnati LaSalle. Not sure what they return, but I would imagine there will be quite a bit of competition for playing time there.

On a more positive note, the old field turf is currently being removed at Alumni Stadium. New turf installation should begin soon.
